dimpled and slotted brake rotors
dimpled and slotted brake rotors
well i have a quick question for ya all, i work at a CNC shop, a really good one, we have the best machines the best programers etc. so it wont be a shisty job but i was wondering if it was worth it or possible to dimple and slot my rotors, is there going to be any noticable difference from stock braking? thanks
slots would work better, the only reason they are there is to help the gasses that form in between the pad and rotor to escape. I wouldn't really recommend doing this to your stock rotors, they are pretty weak....just save some $$ for real slotted rotors.
modern pads dont have that gas build up therefore making the slots/holes useless. i ran both slotted/slotted drilled/drilled on street and tracked a few times on slotted/drilled, i cracked a drilled rotor once. currently i have plain brembo blank rotors. there was no difference between any of the rotors and brake fade on the street or track.

We sell dimpled/slotted rotors. There is no reduction to the integrity of the rotor by dimpling. There is a reduction in material but it is so little that it does not create a weak spot. If it is drilled to deeply then you would have an issue.
I would not do anything to the stock rotors as they are soft. We sell all 4 slotted for less than the front 2 front the factory. I'm not putting the price here, this isn't an ad just and FYI.

Just remember that the stock rotors are soft. A pad that fades less puts more heat into the rotor and will wear it out quicker.
