Greddy SP2 considerably QUIETER than RSR GTII???

I'm growing a bit tired of my RSR GTII catback, as are my passengers, i.e. wife/son.

I don't want to go back to stock, but would like to swap for something quieter. I've read from several that the Greddy SP2 is quiet, but overall feedback on this system is limited.

Anybody have any insight?

Let me know what you think.

No, the RS*R GT-II exhaust is a straight through design (the loud one):

the quiet RS*R is the Ex-mag (the one I have):

If you take a look at my thread in show n shine: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=154968 you'll see how it looks on the car (nearly like stock).

edit: If you're looking for one of the quieter Evo exhausts, I highly recommend the RS*R Ex-mag. I've had a RS*R Ex-mag on my '99 Prelude for about 4 years now, and it's still in great shape. I expect my RS*R for my Evo to be just as good.

Yup the SP's supposed to be the quiet one. The Exmag does sound good! Quiet to boot!

wait, you have the gt2? and looking for a quieter exhaust? If so then yeah the exmag will be quieter. Have you considered the work stealth axel back? PS is your rsr for sale? (if its the gt2 :P)
edit: yes it is lol.

ask the vendors which one is the quieter one... im sure they heard everyone of them.. I believe the 2 most quite ones are the Greddy Evo 2 or the Fujitsubo RM01A .. ask Cal from Gruppe-s he has the Greddy Evo2 I think and he told me its very quiet.

I always wondered about the SP2, that RS*R looks like a nice piece as well.

CFaber, does your RS*R catback have a resonator in the intermediate pipe
as the SP2 catback does ?

Maybe adding another BIG resonator might help to quiet it down.

I have my extra stock muffler going to WORKS tommorrow for the Stealth Works
conversion. ( all boxed up and ready to go ).

Thanks for the feedback everybody. I was partial to the checking out the Greddy SP2 because it is now offered in full stainless. I've used the Ex-Mag on my swapped Civic HB and it was a nice piece, as well. Great fitment and mellow sound.

I'll keep checking around and also see whether I can get a better price on the SP2 of Ex-Mag.

My RSR GTII will soon be for sale, but unfortunately I won't be able to post and ad for it yet here on Evom.

I was looking for an SP2 and found out they are backordered from Greddy. I couldnt find anyone that had one or could get one. Also, I heard the SP2 did not sell very well and that they may be discontinued because everyone was buying the Evo2 instead. From what I heard the Evo2 and SP2 are supposedly both about the same in sound.

Both the Greddy EVO 2 and the SP are < 95db. So if you ever come down to Cali, technically the pigs shouldn't sweat you because 95 db is the max amount of sound they will allow from an exhaust. Greddy EVO 2 has less bends in the piping so it'll probably give you a little more horsepower than the SP.....both offer 80mm piping.

I have had the greddy SP2 for about 5000 miles and not One complanet with it , It looks Stock and feels great . It dosnt drone out the car , it has a nice deep rumble just the way the car should have. If you are looking for a exhaust that wont kill your ears or all out weight savings i would look into this.
