Friend of mine asked me if an Evo8 would be faster than a 05 Lightning? Of course it would get smoked from a launch but what about a roll? Both cars stock of course. I don't street just being curious...

 

I would have to say the lightning would smoke the evo.

 

We saw one today and it sounded mean as hell... But it could have been all bark and no bite hehe.

 

2004 was the last year of the Lightning. There were no 05's. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

 

I already had the bad experience and had my behind handed over by one on a 2dn 40mph roll my evo had turbo back and mbc at 20 psi. As far as i know the guy had cai but that was it. Those damn pick ups are fassst

 

what is an 05 lightning? do you mean the old ford lightning pickups from the old F-150 body style...like 99-03 or somthing?

Well the guy had paper plates on out I assumed it was an 05... looked pretty new.

 

Stock for stock, I think it will be close. Modified Lightnings are extremely fast, and stock ones are fast also, but they are no highway monsters stock, I think areodynamics play a roll in that. Should be pretty close stock for stock.

 

I thought they stopped making them? but if im correct stock, the lightings are about 4700 pounds, and run about the same quarter times as the Evo. Stock for stock they should be close.

 

i got my *** handed to my by a lightning on the highway i dont know what year it was all i know is that it was maybe a 3rd gear pull hung all the way through 4th and then the lightning just walked passed me like nothing...i had a catback filter and afc

 

I got beat in my friends wrx badddly and he had an 02 with a vf30 turbo and an xede piggyback computer which isnt that much but should be enought to beat it. lol the vf30 isnt all that either!

 

do you know what the lighting had done? if anything

 

Now what times would the stock evo run if it didn't have AWD ? From a dig it would be a good race but when its at a roll and it comes down to power/torque sorry to say it but i know my car just doesn't have much in the upper rpms when the boost starts to taper and im in direct drive or even 5th
