03 to 05 evo, worth the upgrade?

Trying to decide if its worth the upgrade?? I have 03 I'm serious auto crosser, wondering if the 2 diffs will make a huge difference. I know the front would, but not sure if the center would. ITs either that or I think about getting a rs or o5 front tranny if thats possible.

Don't forget the larger 10.5 housing gives the car more midrange torque which is good for auto x

If you really want to be compeditive in A stock just get a ZR-1 vette and hugh Hoosers to match

0% apr on 05 model so it depends what you're paying for on your 03 and how many miles on your 03, etc. A WR turbo would be a good selection for your 03 for auto cross and RR.

Also you got to think about it. It is probably going to cost you about 10 grand to go to an 05 from an 03 (Depreciation and taxes). Is it worth it to get the 10.5, and 2 diffs for 10K?? Not to me. Then again if you have the money laying around, spend it!

I'd much rather keep my 03, but I"m kicking around options my 03 only has 5000 miles on it. I would try and sell it for about 25000 I've had bites on it before at 26500 about a month ago when I wanted to sell it so I feel its doable at that price. There for i'm looking at 5g for an upgrade. Anyone know how much u can get a front diff for?

I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse. An 05 SSL for 33K otd with 2.9 financing and a complete payoff of my 03 (20K) with 43,000 miles. It was worth it to me.

Yep this car is a high maintenance machine when you add things up especially at such alow mileage . Reasons why I kept my 03 with 30k (60% highway mileage):

1. Too many mods (fork $$$ for new tires, clutch, tranny fluids, etc already).
2. Trade-in\Resale value is crap.
3. $$$ that I was going to lose did not justify the change from 03 to 05.
4. Hate quality and their warranty so this is my 1 and last . Didn't want to deal with them again.
5. Stock EVO car == once you've driven in a modded one. Don't know how some people can or plan to keep it stock ( potential voided warranty anyway) for the entire claim warranty.

I would swap all my parts over to the new evo for sure. Mitsu warrenty is not a warrenty, so I could care less about it.
