Help out the guys at Car and Driver....
I watched the C&D show before and I dont like it, it sucks compared to Top Gear
BUT
dont watch the Discovery channel Top Gear cuz there edited and chopped all up (different segments from different episodes), therefore there rubbish
I want to start a Top Gear like show in America (test USDM cars, have american star in reasonable car, USDM news)
CUZ BBC TOP GEAR IS THE BEST

British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)
BBC 1 is Channel 1 on UK regular tv (there are no Commercials on the BBC channels)
BBC 2 is channel 2
ITV / HTV is usually channel 3
Channel 4 or S4C is ummm channel 4
and I believe there is a channel 5 now
if you want additional channels you have to get satellite (SKY) or cable if available in your area (in the UK).
the closest you guys will get to BBC is BBC America. Unless it is available for viewing somewhere on here.
The GTO episode
The version of the GTO they showed was a Vauxhall Monaro VXR (UK)
The Australian version is called the Holden Monaro all the companies are subs of GM
Take a look at an old Vauxhall Astra when you guys get a chance, there are styling cues from that on the New Chevy Cobalt albeit the same chassis just different front and rear clips and interior.
The earlier Vauxhall astra GTE is basically the same as the Pontiac le mans
I will dig up some photos later to show you what I mean.
Top gear on discovery has been edited for American TV.
Sorry for the Off topic

okay...first of all, I love this show and would love to keep it.However, these people never helped themselves out. You don't get audience by doing a 15 minute featured segment on minivan comparison...I'm sorry, but I'm not watching that crap....
my only suggestion is for them to do more segments on sports cars and suv's and factory-modified cars which is more popular among it's viewers....I'm not saying it's more popular among the general population...but it's obvious the general population doesn't watch this show.

I get all my Top Gear shows off DC++, a european file sharing client. I dont really like Fifth Gear but I do have a couple episodes. The Top Gear episode with the Vauxhall Monaro VXR and the D1 drifters was tight.

I'd rather watch John and Jims car review on cable access

I think they can afford it charging 186k $ a month for a one page ad in there magazine.

C&D is blah . . . I used to have it one just becuase it came on in the same block as Horsepower TV and Trucks -- Stacey rocks!!!
Anybody watch Street Tuner Challenge (Speed - Wed 7:30 EST)?? I've caught most of the episodes. It is pretty good but they try to cram too much into a 1/2 hour show. You only get a small taste of the builds. And the production is kind of campy in a way . . . way to Tuner Transformation like. I wish they would just do it like the build shows on Spike TV do it.

Top Gear > 5th Gear > Car and Driver
I like C&D, but the shows get repeative. They lack spaz, and I wanna see some sports cars and imports and stylistic, awesome editing form!
I voted "YES", but they seriously need to revamp the production and make it longer than 30mins.

Im already one step ahead of you, I have contacted MTV Networks to see if we can do an exact american style show.
