The Sti has 249 lb/ft of torque @ the wheels while the MR had 248 lb/ft of torque. But i must say EVERY VEHICLE varies power output at the wheels. If you ask a number of people about what they dynoed stock...everyone has a different answer. This question is very vague since this question should deal with one particular owned EVO or STi. The cars are very close when it comes to whp. The only thing that makes the STi faster than a stock evo would be the 6 speed, but i dont think that makes much of a difference either. There are however large amounts of understeer in the Sti. At willow springs (i believe), the Mitsubishi won the best lap time by about 59 seconds. The Subaru sucked at the turning because of understeer but made up some of it by its exitiing corner throttle response. Mitsubishi was the opposite but understeer was moderate to minimal. The mitsubishi out handled the STi. This is only at a race track. In overall comparison from auto x to drag racing these cars are too similar to be labeled as the "faster" car. In reality, it all comes down to whether the driver has ***** or not.
Yah, and to sum all of that up in one word, I choose:

Negligible (see above).

I come on to EVOm for a laugh sometimes. This is like my 3rd one today! Another was from a guy with a BASE lancer who is looking for an EVO wing to make it look more like an EVO...

On a side note I asked 2 of my friends (1 has stock EVO, 1 has stock STi) if they ever raced and of course they did and they said it was a dead heat so its so close its.... negligable lol

My MR dyno'd at 295..................... CRANK HP, not WHP
stock

Oh and for the ones that dont understand the true bulk of this thread negligible...

neg·li·gi·ble
adj.

Not significant or important enough to be worth considering; trifling.

When SCC dynoed the 05 STi & 05 EVO MR on HKS' dynojet, the EVO dynoed 246HP/259TQ, while the STi dynoed 260HP/259TQ.

But, I would probably go with Warrtalon's Negligible answer

Sorry, then you don't know what your crank hp is...that's just an estimate like the rest of us. My estimate was 310 crank hp, but I would never claim that on a thread like this...

On average the cars are about the same, but the STI is more consistent. A stock STI always puts down between 220-225whp on our dyno, whereas the MR ranges from 215-225whp. A stock EVO GSR/RS for comparison is usually around 210whp.

Cheers,

Gary

The only difference between the Mr and my GSR is the 6 speed, inverted bilsteins, BBS rims and the aluminum roof. All '05 Evo's have 276/hp & 286 lbs tq

It doesn't, the 05 GSR, RS & MR all have the same power. The 03 GSR & 04 GSR & RS have lower power due to smaller hotside and different tune.

damn, had to edit to say damn, 1sweetoz beat me to it.
