R6 or Evo Mods?

Okay gents heres my dilema. My dad has agreed to match any money I would throw down for a bike. I'm really torn between picking up a used R6 or just taking about 2,000 and modifying the evo. Gemme some input.

Don't get a bike. There's a huge possibility you could get hurt or worse killed. Modifying the Evo will prove to be imo much more rewarding. ok so this may come off as preachy but this is my honest opinion...

i understand the urge to get a bike, I've had the same feeling and sometimes i still get the urge. But here are the reasons why i won't get one. I have had 1 friend killed 1 friend broke his neck and 1 friend paralyzed from the waist down on a bike. All three were excellent, safe riders. In all three situations, the accidents were some one elses fault. People do not watch out for bikes. Ironically the one who was the best off was the one who broke his neck, was not wearing a helmet and luckly made a quick recovery. So don't just think "oh i'll wear a helmet."

I work in a trauma hospital as an MRI technologist. In the summer i see several riders with broken bones including necks. I scan people almost on a weekly basis who have brain and spinal cord damage from being hit or falling off of motorcycles. A great deal of them were in accidents that werent their fault. And some were just being jackas ses. I just scanned a guy yesterday who has had 5 brain surgeries because he has epileptic seizures from a motorcycle accident that happened 10 years ago. Just think about all the old people that pull out in from of you and do all that stupid crap on the road that annoys you. On a bike that kinda thing is scary because a 400 lb bike is gonna lose to a 4000lb cadillac.

My .02: work on your Evo, it will be more fun and rewarding.

R6. Then you'll have an evo and an R6.
Were all entitled to our opinions.
