If you want more noise get the dp and testpipe from them and it will get loud and sound real nice. Lots of gains from doing so too.

I don't know if I have too high of expectations for sound/loudness (my last car was a 96 Mustang GT with catback and offroad H-pipe). What are everyone's thoughts on this?

^^ agreed . . . I've seen vids of just the cat-back. I just installed the full TBE w/ test pipe about a week or so ago. It's plenty loud enough for me and a good bit louder than just the cat-back. But it doesn't have the annoying (to me) higher pitched, raspy exhaust note you can easily get from an aftermarket exhaust on a low displacement motor.

I wish i had the funds for the rest of the exhaust, but that'll have to wait.

On a positive note, I forgot about the break in period on exhaust (<--- Thought this was a myth until I experienced it). I had the same problem with my Mustang. It didn't seem that loud at first, but after it broke in, it sounded alot better. After taking it out tonight for a few minutes of hard driving, the exhaust is already louder. It already sounds alot better now, can't wait for it to be completely broken in.

My RS-R is too loud...I don't like it anymore. I'm gonna go with the B Racing next. It's quiet until you go WOT.

Ummm...you're driving an EVO, not a CRX. You don't have to be obnoxiously loud to get attention. And if you do...theres something wrong.

first time i have heard that someone wants a louder exhaust system.
ditch the cb and get a tb - that will give you some noise

on my 03 i had at first just put a catback and it was really quiet, just a tiny bit louder than stock.

I removed the cat and put a downpipe on and that thing was extremely loud, like sti turbo back rumble noticeable.

while it was nice, sometimes annoying.

then I got cams etc, made 300+whp and it got even louder
