Hahaha. Touche. I got tired not of the debate but of the lack of sleep. But I concede to defeat. I don't believe its a great FIRST mod but I will admit to it being a worthy mod when trying to complete "suporting" Mods. THe reason I say this is because :

I just got back from RRE tonight ( getting clutch adjusted ) and I asked Mike his opinion on this debate we were having last night . He put it in ways I could understand.

what he said was this . It isn't a good FIRST mod because it corrupts AFR's and causes Irratic readings and is better suited with somesort of tuning device. But he also said that I was wrong in my " Intakes ingest Hot engine bay air " while he said this is correct he also in the same sentance said it maid no difference during their testing. They (RRE) had tested the air temperature after the intercooler with and without the intake. The noticed no significant gains in temp due to the Intake.

The only thing they noticed was that the Intake ingested alot more air than the stock box creating more power. He said that to realize this power tuning would be needed though "bolting" it up would yeild some gains .

But he in the same breath said that not all intakes are created equal and that the K & N Typhoon made every car he's seen using it "run like complete ***" .

So in short I call this a draw. simply because it may not be the greatest First mod but the power potential is surely there with some tuning. Also I asked him the difference between say the HKS RS vs. the APS CAI . He said the gains from the APS CAI would be Nominal at best. but you wouldn't have to deal with the foam of the HKS RS which clogs and robs power if not replaced.

mmmmmm crazy mods. i love crazy modding. theres a guy in the Ford Lightning forums thats building a twin turbo, 32 valve DOHC, 5.4 liter with just a few extra goodies. i bet he runs 10's. i was thinkin a Authority 3" Turboback Exhaust, but now my freakin clutch went out cause i cant drive a 5 speed for **** and they're crap in the first place. so im thinkin of an ACT Street Disc Clutch Kit. cause im a poor bastard with one too many fast rides
