sorry to hijack the thread, but is there 2 amps for the infinity system? like one for the speakers and one for the sub?
or is the radio already amped and the amp is for the sub?

sooo, will i need a hi-low converter if i am gonna use an aftermarket deck? is the infiniti radio output an amped signal, or a low voltage signal for the amplifier to amplify?

^^the harness makes it about a 30 minute install. metra makes the same harness also. go check out the DIY section on how to remove the climate control panel and the rest is easy.

Nocturnal--will that MITAH harness work with cars equipped with the SSL package and retain use of the sub as well??? THats the main issue that I am seeking an answer for. It looks like it does but I just dont want to spend money and time running speaker wires all over the place if it does not--its not worth my time the installs a 3 hour job, but I can do plugs just fine Thanks for the help!

I've found that the stock head unit is allright, but the tuner in it sucks. Has anyone noticed that CDs sound pretty good, but the radio sounds horrible?

I got the SSL, and only because I love leather.. the stock sound system is crap to my opinion... my sub blew out pretty quick... and I took out the amp and speakers and sold them all on Ebay for dirt cheap..

The only thing I have left from the stock sound system is the sub box that I kinda liked because it was tucked away in the side of the trunk.. but too bad it only holds a 8"sub.

Well anyways I replaced it with a 10" Alpine type R, tried to get best sounding and lightest sub possible.. you want the enclosure I'll sell it for cheap, never offered it because I didn't think I would get much response back, it's sitting in my closet.

I changed out the rear speakers for some 2 ways alpine and a Clarion HU. I wouldn't say this system is crap but its def not as good as what I had in my integra.

I havent put in my system from my 03 in yet, I just got the harnesses to replace the stock HU with my Alpine 9833.... improved the quality of the SSL stereo, but still weak IMO....

I'll end up taking it all apart soon enough.
