05 Evo owners, some questions please

I'm looking at buying a new Evo in the next few months and I'm trying to get a feel of the market for the VIII. It looks like the sales of used VIII's are getting fairly cheap with the IX coming out so I'm wondering how much owners are getting their new 05 Evo's for, especially those purchased recently? Please list final price excluding tax, any options you may have and where you are located or dealership recommendation. I, myself, am located in the midwest: Madison, WI.

Reason I am asking is if it looks like I can get a good deal on an VIII then I'll get an VIII otherwise I'd just as well wait for the IX. Doesn't really matter to me which one I get, unless the Evo IX comes with a 6-sp standard, which the dealership told me, no.

Also the Mitsu dealership around here won't let us test drive the vehciles at all, did your dealership let you test drive the vehicle? I've driven my buddies 03 Evo, it was a blast, but it was modded so It'd be nice to get a baseline feel....

Thank you in advance.

Bought my 05 for 29.5k OTD almost a year ago in MI.

As for test drive, my dealership did let me drive my car, but they went with me, didn't let me rev over 5k (which is good), and either wanted a credit check done or the buyer just about ready to sign.

Dealership is not a good place to see how you like the car, just my opinion...its only good to make sure the car is in good working order. If you really want to see if you like the car, best bet is a friend...which it looks like youve already done.

$29,600 for a non-ssl.

That's the reason I jumped on a 2005 is because they are dealing to move them out. Best time to get a lot of car for the money.

you dont want to know how much I payed... it was way too much. But they it was one of the few GG's left in the greater area, and it was sitting on the show room floor so I went with it.

As for the test drive, I got to test drive a different Silver MR not once, but TWO seperate times. My leverage? I told them "look im gunna walk down to the suburu dealership right after this, if you dont let me test drive this car then I have nothing to go off of but looks and personal taste"

They knew I was serious about buying a car, so they let me test drive it twice. Dealer even told me "please be safe but push this car like you want to, i want you to really feel what its like"

=) even got a lil sideways in the auto-mall

$28.5 non ssl plus ttl 100% financed at 0%

I was allowed to test drive 2 evos at my local dealer. One with the sales rep, the second by myself (Anderson Mits in Rockford IL)

They currently don't have any evo's but I can give you a number if you like since you are pretty close. Let me know.

Mike

I hear you brother It's the supply and demand thing at it's finest. I wanted a WW MR and ended up paying MSRP - $500 loyality rebate. But it was the last one left east of the Mis river and it was all or nothing
