won't goof off take the clear coat off?! The way i did mine was heated it up with a hair dryer and the badges peeled off easily. If you just pull the badge off you might take the paint with it. i took the residual glue off with adhesive remover.
Yeah they make them in black. A bunch of places have them. I got my silver one at Lancershop.com. To remove the stock badges I used fishing line after dental floss failed miserabley. The fishing line kept braking too but I didn't feel like driving to buy something stronger. Just kind of saw through the foam adhesive keeping the line close to the letters. Then once the badges are off, carefully scrape off the rest of the sticky crap with your fingers. I used soapy water too and tried to use my finger nails as little as possible. This process is a pain the A$$ but it is so worth it!
I just debadged mine leaving the Mitsu emblem. I used waxed dental floss (brand name is glide I think). Suprisingly, the wording came off really easily. But then the car is only two weeks old.
1.Start at the corner of the lettering and try to work the floss under the tape. I think if your car is older, the floss will catch between the tape and the lettering.
2. IF the tape remains, I read that you can use a hair dryer to loosen it up and scrape it off with your finger.
3. Use some polish (and wax?) and buff it clean.
I read this from Bolson's website. I'll link it when I get home from work.

I just removed the "lancer" part and kept the "evolution" down on the bottom left and the mitsu star up top. Keeps it evenly weighted with the 'evo' badge on the left and the keyhole on the right, IMO
Yeah, I debadged mine too and just left the Mitsubishi emblem. I also put the Evo 7 tails on, and I really like how the rear of the car looks now. Much cleaner IMO... Here's a pic. I need to take a better pic, but this will just give you an idea:

And as mentioned before - it's pretty easy. Dental floss, wax and time are the only things you will need

I used a clay bar and the bug remover stuff. The easiest way it to use a blow dryer and floss. Once the residue is left over just heat it up and use your fingers. At the end you can do whatever to make it shine.
I do not recommend clay bar or other stuff as it simply just doesnt work.
