turbo time?
I usually set my timer for 30 seconds, if i am running car harder maybe 1minute, if running at the track then maybe a little over a minute anything more than that would prob be over kill.
jeeez, what the hell have i been doing? when i bought the car, the dealership made me watch an "intro" movie where this guy talked about how to take care of your evo. he said that after prolonged use, or hard driving u should let the car idle for 2-3 minutes....

If you've been running it really hard, it's good to give it time to cool down. I do this by driving at low speed/low rpm in higher gear for the last few minutes if I can, so that way I don't have to idle for more than 30s.

yea i used to do that but realized it chugged some gas haha..so i shortened it lol...anyways..i swear this notorious video the dealership makes everyone watch is BS..i didnt have to watch it =/
I had to watch it haha....anyway, if I don't have time to sit there with my car and I have been doing some spirited driving I set it for about a minute, the reason you want to do the turbo timer is because the turbo is spinning and oil is lubricating the shaft and bearings, when you shut the car off, the oil will stop flowing to the turbo. If the turbo is spinning fast from running the car hard, and you shut the car off, it will cause friction from no lubrication, thus damaging the turbo

No, it's not a matter of the turbo spinning. It's a matter of the turbo being extremely hot and needing the oil/coolant to flow through it long enough to cool it down. If you shut it off while it's still too hot, then the oil that remains stagnant in the turbo after shutdown will coke up from being overheated. Now, this isn't a real problem with our turbos, though, because technology has advanced to the point that the turbo gets cooled quite efficiently while driving.

-depends on how hard you run your car / and cool off time after
-also depends on how you drove your evo.
-the tt just makes it easier , so you dont have to sit and wait in the car
