keep the bike, i have my gixxer and my EVO. some days i just wanna switch back and forth. and with the price of gas going up the bike is lookig even better for short trips.
keep the bike man, the evo is fast enough stock untill you have the money to mod it. No fast car can replace the feeling of being on a fast bike! not only that, you'll never see most of the money you put into the evo again, the bike will hold resale value
I have an '03 R6 and was strongly concidering selling it. It was my first "car" and i love bikes and thought i would ride my whole life... But ever since i picked up my evo a month ago i have no desire to ride it at all. If i could get enough money from selling it to benefit me i would in a second, but how all the math works out i benefit more keeping it.
In your situation i would sell it without hesitation.

Well guys thanks for all the replies. I didnt think many people would chime in.
Anyway, I do notice that a lot of used bikes at the dealership hold their value really well.
i.e. a 97-98 CBR600F3 selling for like $4895 with who knows how many miles.
Its gonna be a tough choice for me, cuz there are days I just wanna ride and chill with the boys.... but then having $7K or so dumped into go fast mods for the EVO doesnt sound too bad either.

DONT DO IT!!! lol take your time with the evo, "savor" the mods if you will. It's much more fun that way, and in the end you'll still have a bike. good luck with your decision bro
I have an 01 TL1000R that I bought new, it's my 5th bike, and I've totalled 2, been riding for 13 years. I've had my share of falls and close calls, lately I've also been debating selling it, so I understand your dilemma, it's a tough choice.
I've made many good friends from riding and have good memories, but is it worth the risk of seriously getting hurt? I've been just about to sell it and then I see an 80 year old guy on a Goldwing riding around town and think it may be possible to keep riding and staying in 1 piece, if you don't ride stupid (without proper gear or making stupid moves). Odds are against you though, it's more of a matter of when, not if, you will crash.
My suggestion to people thinking about getting a bike is don't get started, get a fast car.

Yeah a part of me wishes that if I didnt get the bike then my EVO would be faster.
On the other hand if I never got the bike then today I'd be wishing I had one.
When I ride my gixxer I ride safe and responsibly..... on the highway even crackheads will zoom right by me as if I was sitting still, while wearing no gear!!!
i'm kinda like the 80 year old guy on the goldwing, just stuck in a 28 year old male body and on a sportbike....
but anyhow when I open my garage door, my ego gets stroked everytime especially if I have guys/girls come over the house to hang out.... I mean look at this:

Not that many people can open their garage doors and see these vehicles waiting to be ridden/driven!!
Nice, I see you have the yellow theme going on!! I have the white theme with some blue on the bike.
I definetly ride differently then I use to, which is why I'm still in 1 piece I guess, but thinking about starting a family soon, so that may be the kick I need to sell it.

Well!!!!
If you arent using the bike to its full potential I would definately sell it, but if u do sell it I would take my time on the mods for the Evo and do a little at a time. You definatly do not wanna get yourself in a mess modding the **** out of your daily driver. On the other hand the bike is the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK. If you are serious about dragging knee then keep the thing otherwise unload it and save some of your cash.
