thank you everyone for your support. here is a picture. Insurance will just cut a check for everything that was stolen. I will have the body work done and they will cover it and then they will cut a check for the seats and the rest of the stolen odds and ends.

One of the guys here who got the seats stolen said $5K each... is that right??? 1/3 the cost of the car to replace the seats? That's crazy!

THe seats are just normal seats with leather put over it. I don't think it's 5K a piece. my guess is maybe $500/ piece

Once you get the money back from insurance, are you going to buy OEM recovered seats again, or are you going to get aftermarket seats?

Financially, you might be better off getting aftermarket ones, but then you would almost be an even bigger target for thieves!

Good luck getting it sorted out, though!

We are actual thinking of getting aftermarket seats. Just need to find some good black ones. or maybe black and grey with leather on it. But by the time the car is fixed we will have it in a garage. So it will be in a secured garage at work and in a garage at home. Plus I will probably put a very large alarm on it.

yeah, I didn't think that was right. I guess whoever posted what I read added in an extra "0" by mistake. That really sucks. I mean if someone steals your radio, at least you can still drive your car while you're getting it replaced. I hate theft and vandalism...

no actually, you are right. The seat is not just a regular seat. You have to buy it in 2 pieces..top and bottom and from mitsu they are quite expensive.

You may want to put this in your regional forum as well. People here could look on Ebay and stuff, but it's just as likely they'll stay in your area.

just called the dealership and got a quote for 2 new seats. My jaw hit the floor when I heard what he said. If you can guess what it costs you can win a cookie. You will be shocked.......

I hope this is a totaly out there guess, but we'll see. They want about 1000 to 1100 per seat.
