I Hate Big Rigs!!!

I passed one on the way to work this morning coming in the opposite direction and it kicked up a bunch of rocks which were laying all over the road. My car was pummeled with no fewer than 10 of them. The paint on the hood is now chipped in several places, and my windshield is pitted like crazy. I realize that big rigs are a vital part of our economy, but it still sucks ***. I'll be making a trip to the dealer for some touch-up paint, I guess. Yeah, this isn't the worst thing that has happened to some of you, but it helps to vent in cyberspace.

you're supposed to take the plate and ID of the truck and call the company, they will fix your car

I got a nice size crack in my winshield when my car was only 2 months old from following one and having a rock fly up from his tires. I was pissed. I had owned about 5 talons before buying the evo and never once had a winshield get cracked and now 2 months after buying my first brand new car it happened.

yeah my buddy hit a retread on the highway in his S2000 and hit the gaurd rail at 90 mph, it caused 10 g worth of damage. I was PASSED by a semi in the snow and he kicked up all the salt on the road and chipped the hell out of the paint.

Find a city vehicle driving in the shoulder......right down the time and place of the vehicle and its ID number. Call the city and make a claim. They will replace it. The catch is the vehicle is only at fault if it travels outside the normal traffic lanes. If a truck kicks up some rocks that were in the road.....he is not at fault.....if he goes off the road and hits some gravel....he is at fault.

I feel everyone's pain here. I just had to replace my lower lip on my car since a truck carrying HUGE rocks spewed them across the expressway causing damage on several cars...I wish I would have seen his ID but I had to pull off of the expressway along with other cars.

I'm not blaming the truck driver. He didn't do anything wrong. I was just lamenting the fact that it happened. But hey, it's just a car. Life goes on.
