the motor he swaped the car with only costed around 1,000. its a mazda gts engine from the 89 protege. so hmm...there's no way the total cost for that escort was close to 32 g's. im guessing total cost was under at least 7 g's.

 

Reminds me of the Colt at last years DSM/EVO Shootout that looked stock except for some wide slicks and was running mid 10's. My friend was taping and was like "HOLY COLT!!!". His plates said "1FSTPOS"

An EVO isn't really designed to be a drag car, it's the total package, not just a straight line wonder.

I bought my EVO with the singular purpose of issuing track day smackdowns

Props to the escort guy for building a quick straight line pos though.

 

i got beat by a ford festiva on the highway.. i have no idea what it had done to it, but i was running mid 12's and he walked right away. Still had the stock steelies on it too, and "powered by mazda", and "yeah its got a hemi" stickers all over it... It was really embarassing.
