hey guys..im in tuff decision to get an evo9 or keep my 03

alrite guys i have an 03 evo rite now..and i was plannin on doin some mods..but i was offered to get an evo 9..so i was thinkin about goin to my dealer since they have them on order i was gonna plan on puttin money down on 1..either a gg mr..or a white ssl gsr..now i can get ther car.....but im worriend about moddin the 9..its pretty much a new motor so theres really gonna be nuttin for it..u def cant do cams in it til w/e company comes out wit them so thats a big loss..

alrite guys so do i keep my 03 and mod it..or get a 9 and risk not able to same mods as the 03...

 

Dude with the money you're putting down and the loss of trading it in, you can add more mod and make it look like a 9. I wouldn't recommend it since they are almost identical cars, except the motor and turbo but just buy a jdm Rear bumper and a front one and you're sets. Saves you from starting all over..........

 

I myself am getting a 9 MR. Some say it isn't worth it but getting ACD, 6spd, aluminum roof etc.. plus that bad *** interior is well worth it to me.

 

id go for the 9, i know alot of 03 guys will tell you theres no big difference, but imo, acd, better diffs, the 6 speed, aluminum roof, better springs, better rims, vortex generator and the hotside are well worth it, plus i love the look of the 9, and anyway, dont worry about power mods, mivec wont be a pain unless you go over 400whp, which i find useless anyway since this is a track car and not a drag car, so buy a 9 mr, mod it i say to 350 to 400bhp if you must, and take that puppy to the track and enjoy!

yeah +1 on the IX MR, as long as you can afford it, I'd go for it...oh and i11matticc, just out of curiousity, why would mivec be a problem above 400 whp and where did that specific number come from?

 

NOT WORTH IT!!!! The EVO 9 Really is not much different, the 4g63 is a proven monster able to handle mass amounts of power with its iron block.And the us evo 9 does not even have the 9 bumper or vortex like every one thinks, from looks wise the front bumper and a slight interior change is all you see oh!!1 AND $$$$$$$$$!!!!!! LOST ...... I would get a 2005 evo 8 mr before a new 9.....

haha well my rents gave me the idea to get the 9..and they would pay the diff that im loosin sooo that doesnt matter..im jus wonder can the 9 make the same amount of power than the 8..haha when do u think they would make cams for the mivec head?

 

also im thinkina bout the gg mr or jus gettin a white gsr wit the ssl package..imo like 5 speed..and theres no big advantage that the mr has imo

 

i was about to sell my 2003.. but once i saw the pictures of the X.. well, would it be better to own one evo.. or two. Keep your 2003 and pay it off, then get a X so you will have two different generations of evos.

 

haha dont like the x at all..haha i wanna get out of my yellow evo too..a nice white or gg would work for me
