Traded 05 STi for 05 Evo

Well just like the title says I'm now a proud owner of a 05 silver evo. Got the car for $28,900 with 4000 miles on it. Loving every minute of it. Definetly feels more like a race car compared to my sti. Doesn't understeer as much and the steering definetly feels better. Its not as fast as my sti was because i had a stage 2 in my sti but it will get there very soon. Some of the things I wish it had that it doesn't is no HID (didn't get ssl package) and cruise control. Everything else I love about the car. Most likely getting the buschur stage 1 for now and take it from there. Anyone have any suggestions about upgrading it, starting off with $1500 to spend for mods. Anyways i've been apart of the evo community for over a year now so hope to meet a lot of you very soon and show off the new whip!

Congrates on your purchase . I'm helping my brother with his mod choices on his 05 evo. We call it "Under the Radar Mod List". Tring to keep it sounding quiet and looking stock. RSR exmag exhaust, VRS downpipe with o2 housing, high flow cat, ported stock exhaust manifold, MBC, MR BOV, drop in filter, lower i/c piping, stainless clutch line, Tein lowering spings, fuel pump, and some sort of tune. We figure about $2500 worth in mods including install an doing about 12.5 in the 1/4 mile. I know poeple on the this board have done it for less and faster but for the short amount of time I have been on this forum these seem to be the mods to go with for what we want to accomplish. Maybe you will go a different route with your list but everything you will need as far as info, opinions, and results will be here.

Get a catback + downpipe with cat delete = turbo-back exhaust (TBE)

Then you can either get a custom ecu flash and then save the rest of the money for cams, hs, fuel pump and reflash.

I also made the switch, i came from a big turbo STi that was totaled in an accident. I could not be happier with my decision. the evo deffinately feels more like a race car.

As far as upgrades go a full turbo back, ecu, and cams will put any stage 2 STi to shame. i acually had the privelage of handing my buddy with a stage 2 STi his rear with just a turboback and works P2 flash.

Congrats on the purchase and enjoy!!!

The biggest reason i traded it in is because I got a brand new car with a cheaper payment.
