Question 05 Evos have more stock HP than 04s and 03s?

When I went to my local tuner place to show them my new Evo, one of the guys there mentioned the 05 had more stock hp than the 04 and 03s but didn't rate it any higher. ANyone here anything about this? Also, I have read that most people's Evo's boost spikes to 19 and drops to 16, but mine spikes to ~ 22-23 and drops to 17-18. Maybe this is where the 'extra' hp is coming from?

And before you dismiss this guy's word, he and his friends are building up his 03 Evo (internals and all). It's currently in the 10s.

Dude, where have you been?, Yeah, this is something that everyone knows for about a year ago.
There have been dozens of Dynos, hundreds of testimonies and tons of articles from the press talking about it.

Yes, the Turbo on the 05 had the 10.5 instead of the 9.8, it pushes more boost and the wastegate was redesinged to a 34 mil flapper plus ECU re mapping.

Like I said man, where have you been? do you read car magazines?, do you surf the internet? Mitsubishi Motors announced a extra 5 hp improvement on the 05 over the 03-04, most of the dynos shows a more significant gain(like 10-15 Crank HP)

The 05 stock pulls significantly harder than the 03-04.

PSSSSSS Do you know that the Evo IX is due for sale in Autum 05 and that is has a MIVEC engine with a different turbo and is rated at 286HP?

Oh, wow, I thought 05s were slower than 03/04s.

I wasn't going to touch this one, cause I normally do not bash people either, but...OMG are you retarded !!! Who doesn't know that, and don't be shocked when your "local tuner place" tells you the '06 Evo IX has more HP than the '05 Evo's.

wow, hating on the newbie..lol. the ususal suspects too I see...give him a break, some of you live to tell someone he's wrong, or "where have you been?" I find this more sad than his original comment.

Well, the 5 hp "difference" isn't exactly what I was refering to. From what they said, it was more like 15-20. And no, I hadn't seen anything about that kind of power increase, or I wouldn't have asked. When the Evo came out in 03, there were extensive tests done everywhere, but I haven't seen anything of the stock 05s. Also, I am not subscribed to every car magazine in the world, so just because you saw it, doesn't mean I did.

Anyone got a link to the differences?
