Well it came on the car when i bought it so i have no clue how it compares to a stock air box so i couldnt tell ya. but so far its doing really well. All i did was take some pressured air and blowed out some of the dirt and such

The filter can not be cleaned. It should last for a very long time. If it gets too dirty, just replace it. Replacement filters are about $70.

The filter is a DRY TYPE filter. It does not need cleaning and regular replacement.

DO NOT clean it. The K&N is oil based and is a completely different type of filter.

I have this filter on my Evo and have used it on other cars, if you guys have specific questions, please ask.

I also had that Apexi intake in my evo. If you are into having an intake, the Apexi might be the best intake for the Evo. Its the dual funnel that makes it work like the stock airbox. Its does not need any cleaning ever. Never cause any problem on the dyno.

That is a question you'll have to ask Apexi. As far as I know, you never change it.
