oil filters for 05 evo's

hi, ive already searched on threads but it didnt help me too much. so i didnt have time to go to the dealership to get the oem filter which i would do next time. but this time i went to autozone and i noticed that the 03 and 04 evo's have part numbers in aftermarket brands such as knn, mobil, fram, ect. i have an 05 evo. i guess the system was not updated, so it said not available under each manufacture. i went ahead and bought a bosch 3300 oil filter. i seached around and someone had used it for a ralliart lancer. i have a few questions.

what is the difference between 03, 04, and 05 evo oil filters?

will this bosch 3300 oil filter work for my 05 evo?

thank you all

kevin

watch out for the aftermarket oil filters some of them are more designed for the lancer.no difference with the oil filters but i would prefer using the oem oil filter.

There is no difference between the years, they all use the same filter.

The OEM filter is the same for all year evos. It's a Denso filter. Make sure you get the little gasket ring as well.

Watch out for what the guys at auto zone and others tell you. they gave me the wrong Mobil 1 filter. it was too small in diameter, which made me curious. i looked on the Mobil 1 site and it gave me another part #. it isnt as big in diameter as the mitsubishi, but it is taller, which makes for the same inside area.

The MZ oil filter is used on a many model I believe. Always go with the Mitsu filter over the aftermarket ****, I don't care if it is made by K&N.
