evo or Type-R

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with a ITR as well as an evo. I'm seriously concidering selling my ITR and buying an evo. Can anyone tell me which one drives better and also which one is better for track days. I need some comparisons since it's kinda difficult to test drive one without paying some on it.

I just sold my Integra GSR Turbo and shooting for the Evo in a few weeks. I've pretty much done most of the track events from drag to auto x to road racing and my integra just doesn't cut it. Sure it's fast on the straights trapping @ 104mph in the 1/4 mile but the footwork and rigidity just doesn't cut it for me when it comes to road racing. The good thing about the R is the liteweight and nimbleness. It's a fun car with it's high revving VTEC motor and most of the time, your shifting constantly to stay in the power band.

But anyway, you can't really compare the R with the Evo. Both cars are awesome and if you want, just keep the R and buy the Evo then you get best of both world.

Since when does the evo weigh 4200lbs????? Those guys are a bunch of nuts! Most the stuff they say is really ignorant.....thank God we had some guys in there sticking up for the evo of I would have had to register! Type R integra? Fun? I've driven one and I can without a doubt say that the evo is a billion times funner to be in! AWD!

If you get an ITR, it will get stolen.

Don't have a link or stats or anything but I remember reading it was per capita the #1 stolen car in America...

Your insurance rates will reflect this

sorry i tried to defend the Evo as best as i could.. i understand the jealousy factor, but some people think that they own the best vehicle in the world, and nothing can compete...

it is true the type r motor is the most sought after, because of it's adaptability to almost any honda from '86-'00.

in my opinion it's still a integra.. a very fast and nible integra, but still a $25K integra..

tunable - yes
reliable - yes
performance - okay

nope i had nothing to do with that thread. I've already got the R and I've had it for about 2 years. I just don't know if I'll miss having the R or if the evo will make me forget about it. I don't think I'll get a chance to drive an evo and see what it's capable of since the ones at the dealer need to be broken in. I will be able to feel the handling and ride but I won't get to try out the power.
I wish I could keep both but I have to sell the R and my blazer to get the evo. What kind of insurance rates are you guys paying? The R and blazer together are about the same as the payment would be for the evo but the insurance is where I'm hoping to come ahead.

I have an ITR right now and I'm waiting for an Evo, but haven't actually driven one yet I think they're going to be pretty different appraoches to the same concept. A very fast street/track car. I expect the Evo to be faster, brake better, handle better (2.1 turns lock to lock sounds awesome!), and eat gas If you like tuning your vehicle, then the Evo has a much larger tuning potential because of the turbocharged 4G63 engine. Much like the ITR, it's also going to be superb out of the box and you won't want to fiddle with the suspension unless you know what you're doing.

There's a few other members on here that will be getting an Evo to replace their ITR. Once they have some driving experience you'll probably get a better answer.

I bought an ITR after owning an S2000 and right from the beginning I did not like the ITR at all. the S2000 was (in my opinion) light years better (but it also cost a good bit more).

I am trading my S2000 because I think the EVO will be better than the S2000..... so.... in my crappy opinion, the Evo would crush the ITR except maybe in auto-x where the Evo's extra 700lbs would really slow it down.

My ITR was stock except for exhaust and intake, and I could not get the power down...it would spin in drag race starts, etc...

I never did take it to the roadcourse, but a totally tweaked ITR on slicks was running the same lap times as my stock S2000 at summit (similar drivers - both Group 2).

I think you will be very pleased with the Evo....hopefully the extra weight doesn't F' it up too much.
