My friends 03 evo with sunroof but no Jack or spare weighed 3200 pounds on the button on the scales at the last Solo II tour event the car was AS prepared with a few gallons of gas. I think the scale was reading a little high they said my SM2 miata weighed 2430 pounds I went to a local race shop with calibrated scales to get it corner weighted and the reading was 2325 thats with roll bar, hitch, big *** supercharger. I dont see anyone taking off 450 pounds unless you started drilling holes in panels and cut the trunk off. For a car thats already pretty spartan its hard to get that much weight. You could always cut or grind down the extra threads on the bolts on the suspension and engine compartment might be worth a few pounds.

I'll back slickevo18. Mine is at 2985 in SCCA STU trim w/ sunroof (03'). Here is the initial weights from Mitsu. This is probably dry weight so add an additional 50-75 lbs for fluids.

WEIGHTS
GVWR (lbs/kg) 4222 / 1915
Curb Weight (lbs/kg) [w/ sunroof] 3263 / 1480 [3298 / 1496]
Weight Distribution (% f/r) 60 / 40

FWIW, I have no cf hood or trunk.

Looks like I guessed wrong, 3298 w/sunroof is Mitsu's wet weight.

Thanks for the info!

Evo trunks are steel. RS is thinner steel for '05+.

I don't necessarily doubt that someone could get the weight of a full interior Evo down to just below 3000; I just don't believe someone could do it to one that weighed 3400 initially when EMPTY, especially while retaining the stock sunroof. I don't see how you could shed 450lbs.
I'm guessing you weigh about 160 and you're around 5' 5" or the average size of a internet bully.

I weighed mine on a truck scale but it apparently was not accurate at lower weight readings. It reported 3150lbs with me in it and a quarter tank of gas.

Best Motoring showed a clip about how had to use rivets to get the aluminum to mate with the steel. So if you find an al roof, good luck mounting it.
