hey i have a question about making power with the stock exhaust. will intake, down pipe, ecu work well with the stock exhauts. is the stock exhaust too restrictive. has anyone else tried this.

I still have my stock exhaust. I too am looking for a good performance exhaust w/o too much noise, kinda like the greddy on my old civic.

I am about to try.
I just got an exhaust ticket. So, I am going to replace the exhuast with stocker and see how much power it makes.

The downpipe is part of the exhaust, so that makes it not the stock exhaust, but you won't gain anything by replacing just the downpipe anyway. You won't gain much of anything from an intake either, but you can get gains from a tune, boost controller, cams, and alky. It doesn't make a lot of sense to force more air in without being able to exhale, so you should look for an exhaust that is quiet like stock...there's several threads regarding this topic, one of which just started earlier this evening.
