iPod in Evo?

How would you get an iPod to work in an Evo with an aftermarket headunit? I know it probably depends on the headunit but something fairly normal like a regular mp3 compatible alpine or pioneer deck

You can either use the fm systems from belkin, monster, or doi. The monster seems to work the best in my area. Or for a superior sound go for the hard wire method and replace the head unit with an ipod compatible unit. Thats all. Once you do this you will have cd quality sound for like 10000 songs.

i hardwired my ipod a while ago with a unit alpine sells, along with most every other brand. Just plugs into the back of the deck and i ran mine into the ashtray. Worked out really well and sound is CD quality.

a few ways to do it.

ALPINE
9855
9853
9851
9847
(current models) can use the alpine kai420 iPOD interface.
This will allow you to control your iPOD through your headunit of choice.
Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC have simular BUT slower interfaces.

any headunit w/ an AUX input. just need a male to male 3.5mm jack. headphone out of your iPOD to the AUX input at the headunit. good thing is, the toggle to find songs is faster than the interface from alpine/aftermarket headunit. but you have to control the ipod along w/ the headunit.

theres a new iPOD2CAR unit, which allows a factory non premium headunit to interface w/ your iPOD. -BESTBUY

lastly, theres the crappy FM modulator, but that works like ****.

I just bought one of these http://www.clarion.com/usa/products/.../VRX755VD.html to replace my CD/MP3/WMA Kenwood, and my 5.6" mounted tv. There is one below it, but I too wanted to be able to use my IPOD. I can not wait to get home for leave and put it in.

I simply used the RCA aux input on my headunit. Couldn't justify the $100 addon.

i went to radioshack bought a RA cable and plugged it into my AUX in the back of my sony xplode head unit took 5 minutes. Drilled a little hole in the corner of the compartment (where the MR gauge package goes that i dont have) and that was it.
