which would use more gas?

the thing is when at 2000 rpm, i have to press the gas a lot to get to 3000 rpm. but if im in a lower gear like 3000 rpm its easy to get up to 4000 rpm.
ok which would use more gas:
1. giving more throttle at lower rpms to get speeds up
2. giving less throtlle but at a higher rpm to get speeds up

My guess is higher RPM will burn more gas.
Depends on how high we are talking. 4500 RPMs slowly increasing to 5500 should burn more gas than 2000-3500...i think

Highest vacuum with less rpm will always get better mpg. Add boost and rpm, the mpg goes down.

It would totally depend on how long you were cruising, before accelerating. Any cruising longer than like 5min I'd say the higher RPM would tend to use more gas.

what are threads coming to, my advice is drive with the lowest possible RPM and then downshift if you want to pick up speed.
