^Sorry if it seems that we have an attitude with you, it's just that a lot of people keep asking the same questions over and over again, and sometimes we just went over a certain topic and the question pops up again, example- EVO vs. STi threads, I believe if somebody posts a new thread asking which is better should have their account disabled, just kiddin', but you get my drift.

Warrtalon did provide you with answers though, what he said was mainly the differences between the VIII and the IX. As of now, it may be a little to early to tell how significant the power changes are. A couple of dyno comparisons between an VIII and IX have shown that the IX really isn't making much better peak horsepower at all, disappointing to say the least. The IX does seem to have a broader power range and have better low end power, but peak numbers have not been much better than a 05 EVO in comparisons. The tuning company Switzer on the other hand, got a hold of a IX, and their IX put down just over 270WHP stock, interesting, because of the three IXs dynoed thus far and displayed on this site, their IX put down the best numbers by far. Many have argued that their dyno reads a little high and suggested Switzer take the IX to the track to back up the dyno numbers, which Switzer did. Thier IX ran a 13.0@106MPH but this was with a cat-back exhaust (which they claimed only added 1WHP on dyno). Switzer should have tested the IX stock and leave no questions in our mind, but the opportunity was missed, regardless a 13.0@106MPH is very impressive for an EVO with just a catback, 106MPH suggests an E.T. of 12.8 with better launches. Meaning it's possible that their IX could hit an estimated 12.6@108MPH with a full turboback exhaust, which in my opinion is very impressive. Still like I said, their EVO IX has put down dyno numbers much higher than the other two IXs tested, and it could be that Switzer got a hold of a factory freak EVO IX, and most EVO IXs will not make the same power stock. Until more IXs are tested we will not know competely how significant the power differences are between the IX and VIII. As far as everything else, such as the seats, most people who have bought the IXs have given good reviews about the seats. The changes to exterior, most agree are tasteful and that the IX is a better looking car than the VIII. Overall the IX seems to be a little better than the VIII, but the O5 EVO VIII was by far the best year of the VIII so the differences aren't as dramatic when compared to the 05 VIIIs. I believe Mitsubishi realizes that the differences aren't huge, and that is why the MSRP prices didn't go up much at all, the real changes will come with the EVO X.

BTW ... The IX does not have carbonfiber on the underside of the wing pillars.
