Anyone running the "Injen" intake w/ IC hose

I noticed that the Injen intake w/ upper IC pipe is on sale. I was wondering if anyone is running one and if they like it. I've read on this board that an AM intake doesn't do a lot of good. I know that when I added an AM intake to my 7.3 Powerstroke, it made a huge differance and I could hear my turbo spool up more, which I like.
If this isn't a good intake, could you please recommend one. I'm also looking @ buying a boost gauge, EGT and a dual pillar mount. If you have a recommendation, I'd love to hear it.

I've got the injen setup on my car and once you have it tuned it seems to be pretty nice. Your gonna hear a lot of turbo noise over the stock, but I like it to coming from a turbo Diesel myself, I had an AFE stage II setup on my duramax. Out of all the intakes I've seen I just like the injen setup. it's nice setup and the IC pipe doesn't heat soak nearly as bad as the stock piping and it cools way faster then the stock piping. I think you'll be greatly satisfied, but remember tuning is everything.. So, make sure you get your ecu reflashed or some type of piggy-back ems, Like the Xede or one of the other setups.

The stock IC piping heat soaks and doesn't cool as fast? Say what?

So if I add the Injen I'll have to have it flashed? What about the exhaust, same thing? I might as well wait and do them both at the same time.
So where's the best place to buy theses items/ And what exhaust are running? Much louder than stock?
This car is dangerously fun!!!!

any intake works best when it is flashed yes. If you plan on exhaust mods, I'd do intake/exhaust/boost controller/fuel pump at once and have it all flashed as a package on your car

What if i have stand alone EMS.. and running MAP.. it wouldnt' matter if i switch from the stock airbox right?
and wouldn't need the retune.

is that right?

just about all intakes are the same just make sure you tune it afterwards, but you will notice quicker throttle response and spool up.

yeah, injen UICPs do make some power, You don't feel that much when you put it on. But, I just took it off and My logger tells me I lost few WHP.

If you have a standalone EMS running MAP, then there is no stock airbox.

I had this intake and never had it tuned with it...I thought it was SLOWER and it was too damn loud so I sold it to Boostfed (reply #2) He tuned it and got great results... Personally I didn't like the Whoooosh, Pshhht sound all day long, but many people do so...I guess it's your call.

hhaha.. yeah, If I remember correctly, you acutally wanted to buy it back if I was to put the car back to stock and sell it.. hahaha.. just teasin ya..

definately hold out on the flash and the mods if your gonna do an intake, exhaust, etc.. you'll thank yourself in the long run. I was so close to gettin a flash, but once I though about it and the downtime (which isn't really that bad, but there are some) and future mods. I just went ahead and got a piggy-back engine management. It's sorta expensive, but it's so much nicer to be able to drive to the dyno get it retuned when I need and drive home. Plus, your gonna get added bonuses of being able to tune it yourself if you ever get into anything like that and some of the ems systems have some really cool features. I'm mean don't get me wrong. I like the idea of flashes, but for me. the Xede was my best setup because I'm pretty close to an incredible performance shop that specializes in the the Xede and Evo's for that matter. SO, it's really all depending on how your wanting to mod your car and who's the closest person to you for tuning, cause be it flash, piggyback, or full stand alone setup. You're gonna make great power. I would just base it on who you trust tuning and stuff, becuase to me, that's the most important thing about our cars. Tuning is the key.. remember that and you'll always thank yourself..

Yeah, since your car is making like ~10whp or so MORE than it should with the mods you have...it MUST be the intake, right?!?

well, to be exact. It made another 10whp over what I've clamed, but it was with 1-2 psi more which isn't to safe on pump gas. even though the AFR's were still in the High 10's. I like to be extra safe. So, the boost was turn down a notch or to for safety and reliablities sake. So, yeah. the intake and IC piping help out.. hahah.. j/k.. I don't know.. no to cars are ever the same so, who knows. I like it and that's all the matters... LOL..
