He's right azn, only the lancer ralliart and 4G v6 eclipse have the 'LIFT' technology, suck that's mitsubishi couldn't implement it.

To the thread poster, a house is waaaay more important than a car. Keep the o3 or get the o5.

If I were you, I would definitely go with 8 MR. Better car for better value. I understand that 9's come with this new 'MIVEC' thing, but I would much rather have 6-speed (as well as more crisp shifting), magical 'Bilstein' suspension and lighter BBS wheels over the MIVEC. I wish that I could be in the same shoe, being torn between 9 and 8 MR. Well, just my 2c.

Oh man, another person who misunderstands the MIVEC. Again, it is not equal to the VTEC that Honda had (i-VTEC for now and it is again, different).

As for your question, if you really want to trade your 03 Evo, trade it with 05 MR. First, value and second, you will need to wait. By the way, make sure you can locate a 05 MR before selling your 03 unless you have another car.

MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing-and-lift Electronic Control) is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Mitsubishi. MIVEC varies the lift of valves by using two different camshaft profiles. It is similar to Honda's VTEC system. Anyways, go for EVO 9 MR cuz I know that's what you want.

I seriously hope you're kidding. We've already established MIVEC DOES NOT have lift on the Evo.

......It's not the size of the house that determines the payment - Its the loan amount, and taxes and insurance if included......he could have a 7000 square foot house with a 220,000 loan on it, even though the value might be a million...... that would make for his claimed payment......or be paying intreest only......taxes icrease with size, as does insurance, but are usually a small percentage of a payment compared with P&I for a house......

you guys know cars, I underwrite mortgages......had to put in my 2 pennies.....

Well, those of us who own or house know all of this, but without knowing any details, it's a pretty good chance that his 7000sq ft house cost far more than a 7000sq ft house in this area. No time to go into all the details of how much he put down on the house, what his rate is, what sort of loan it is, how much taxes cost, whether he won the lottery, yadda yadda.

id stick to the VIII MR, the six speed and aluminum roof are my favorite features. and just shooting from the hip here but to me there arent enough differences between the VIII and IX to justify a IX over an VIII MR. being less expensive, go with the VIII MR.

you answered your own question, you can't afford the IX. Better go with the 05 VII since you don't have the bling. Why'd you ask the question in the first place if you're going to post a response like that?

I say go for the IX. There are more differences then just the MIVEC. You also get improved gearing and aesthetic differnces such as the improved interior and front bumper. And most likely you would be getting a used MR since Im not sure there are any new ones left, especially not at the same price as a IX. So if its used you also have the advantage of being the first owner, new tires, clutch, no worries about previous abuse, a fresh warranty....I think the IX is worth it.
