Question Weirdest thing happened last week

Last week I was driving to my new house in my evo at around 30 - 40 mph. As I was driving, my door suddenly opened WHILE i was driving. I was sure that my door was completely closed prior because the light came on in the car when the door opened. The door opened to point where the wind kept it from opening all the way out meaning i was able to just push the door open. Has this happened to anyone else?

Whoa, nope. That wouldnt be fun though. Check you latching mechanism, if it got stuct and you closed it, it may not have grabbed, then opened on a pump. That would a bit hair raising on a turn though. Glad it didnt happen then. If it happens agian go straight to the dealer.

WinnAr!

On topic...my door opened on me once, to the point where it catches, although it's ajar. There's no way for you (or me) to verify that it was "closed correctly" because it's impossible for you see the inner catch or know the tolerances associated with it.

My take - you closed the door right on the threshold of not closing it hard enough. So when you leaned on it or hit a bump or whatever, it pops open to that 2nd catch level.

Don't worry about it, just feel happy that you weren't cornering hard on the way to your new, multimillion dollar mansion when the door came unhinged.
