johhny race car intercooler?
johhny race car intercooler?
i bought my evo VIII used, the previous owner had done some "tasteful" mod's on the car, one of which is spray painting the stock intercooler black. i want to replace the intercooler with the stock one, but i couldn't find any for a reasonable price. i had a johnnyracecar.com 8" intercooler on my previous car and was very impressed with it. would the 8" fit the evo w/o replacing the IC pipes? you can get the end tanks positioned on the bottom, middle, or top of the intercooler. $245 shipped is hard to beat.
im sure there might be someone who is looking for a black intercooler that would do a trade with you? its good that youre changing it out because painting an intercooler doesnt help with its function, but im sure if you look hard enough you can find a buyer for your intercooler, and just get a stock one for maybe an extra hundred or so...or maybe an even trade
here are the specs from their website

Core size: 25 wide X 7.75 tall X 2.75 deep
Overall: 30 from outside of end tank to outside of end tank X 8.5 tall X 3.125 at the thickest

There are twelve cooling rows and eleven fin rows on this intercooler.
The cooling rows on this intercooler are internally finned.
The end tanks have a brushed finish.
The threaded mounting points are steel. There are three inserts in the top and three inserts in the bottom.
