RPMs when cruising?
What are some reccomended RPMs/Gears for different speeds? I like to stay in 5th as much as possible for fuel efficiency, but I hear if you are going too slow in 5th...4th whatever gear, it is hard on drivetrain...sometimes if I'm going to slow I hear it chug. What would be reccomended speeds etc?
mine chug too ... the sound is coming from the rear bottom .. somehow one tech from Mitsu said we shouldnt go anything below 3k but I guess he isnt right .....
but now that chug is less and less happening to me...

I keep my rpms above 2k, earliest shift after 3k. I gave my wife the rule of tens to make it easier. 10mph=1st, 20 = 2nd, 30mph = 3rd ,40 mph = 4th, 50 mph = 5th.
My car isn't stock, but lowest comfortable speed for 5th is >45mph.

%th gear rarely sees any lower than 45mph. When decelerating to a stop, despite what the manual says, I'm always in neutral. One time I thought I was in neutral and slowed to a stop for a light but was in 5th and the car went - chug - and then cut off. Then I kick myself in the as's
