i agree with you....i love the sound of it! I just got raid of my hks 2 days ago the hks bov was flatering alot! so i got thje reciculating greddy type rs and i love the way my car feels now still does a little bit noise.I also have to say that the forge is really good and aps and jdm mr bov are really good for the evo.

And to think...it's that sound from that BOV that is partially causing EvoM to go to hell in a hand basket. Such a shame...

 

Mines louder with HKS RS intake.

I would love to run it without messing up the car but its just not worth it.

 

Dont forget to crush it so you'll hold more boost. Also, by putting on an intake (untuned of course) it'll be even louder.

It's awful in that it doesn't sound right. I like the sound of a good purge, but when I hear THAT sound out of an Evo, it usually means it's not running well.

It's causing EvoM to go to hell, because every noob keeps coming on here asking about 2F2F BOVs that vent to atmosphere, as well as LOUD and SHINY intakes that will make the turbo spool sound cool, yo!! For many, it's BOTH the intake and VTA BOV, and since both of these mods are detrimental to the Evo, it is causing us to go downhill. It screws up the car, wastes money, makes us look like ricers, and causes Evo General to be filled with constant bickering.

 

what should matter is that everyone has love for the evo...some people are gonna like all show mods...some people are gonna like all go fast goodies...everyone has different taste...which everyone should be thankful for. it would be pretty lame if everyone was alike and liked the same **** on their evo...wouldnt be any fun. people need to hate less and if they see a thread that annoys them ignore it and look at the next one.

Yeah, that was nice and cuddly like a PETA commercial, but back to reality, ok? People have different tastes, and that's fine, but I am not going to stand idly by while people defile their Evos, because that reflects poorly on me as well as the rest of the Evo community. Preferring show-like items is fine, but installing "performance" mods without any care in the world that no performance is gained is not a matter of "taste." It's just ignorance...

 

Ok let's be real here. I bought my evo for a bunch of reasons. And one of the main reasons is that I love the sound of a boosted car. The sound of a spooling turbo and the blow off after it is orgasmic to me. Personally I'm sick of the SSQV and the Greddy Type RS. EVERYBODY has them. Even on cars other than the evo. I just want the "swoosh" sound. Like from the APS. I like the sound of an SRT 4's mopar BOV actually. I'm sick of the whistles.

I know; that's the problem. So many former Hondaboyz, ricers, and whatever else you want to include grew up hearing thise noise and got latched onto it. Then, when they finally got the chance to buy something like the Evo, their first thought is to modify it so that they could "hear" all these things that have nothing to do with performance. I hear the spool of my turbo just fine with no intake or special BOV, but that's not enough for most of our noobs. They're more interested in hearing all this stuff than actually going FAST. To me, the "orgasmic" parts are hauling freakin ***, clocking amazing times at the drag strip, coming in 1st place at autocrosses, and passing exotics at the road course. No amount of turbo spool noise and BOV purging can match those things...

 

i realize the first couple days i was on here and i might of asked some basic "ricer" questions and now that i have been on here more often i see the same questions i ask posted all the time now and i see why i got flamed on...but to see someone like yourself always go in to their thread and then talk **** kinda looks retarded on your part for the fact that even posting in their thread is fueling it and plus it makes you look like you really have nothing better to do...also regarding peoples different styles...if there was some 5k mod that people started doing to their car that actually reduced their hp by 100whp...who cares...let them do it...yah it sucks and yah it obviously shows that they are stupid but there should be more love on this forum for the fact that everyone on here loves the same car

 

I totally agree. The whole drive and feel of the car is amazing of course. But the "orgasmic" feeling I'm talking about includes the spool and blow off. It's all fit together in a nice tight package that IS the Evo. Now my BOV is stock and I didn't try to make it sound louder. But I will be getting an APS dual vent for 2 reasons: 1 is because I DO like the swoosh sound, and 2: it's because it holds boost better than the stock crap we have. And for an extra, 3: because the majority of us know that a VTA isn't good for an Evo. Even IF you're not seeing any problems, you're still running more rich than from factory.
