Bone stock IX goes 12.89

With all the hype about people doing low times in their evos. I had to post this one. So many people dont believe that a stock evo is capable of doing low low 13's or high 12's. Well i can assure you that it is true. My best friend just picked up his 9 about 2 weeks ago. After 1000 miles we decided to take it to the track to see what it can do. His fastest time was a 13.2@ 104. This was his first time at the track with an awd car. So with that in mind he turned the keys over to me. After a couple passes in the low low 13's. I managed to rip a 12.89 @ 107. This was with a 1.7 60 foot. I am no pro driver...i will tell you that much. So with all the argueing about the times on the stock evo. Here is proof. Oh yea and for the few people who still dont believe me. I will be posting the time slips here as soon as i get then scanned.

wow.. nice.. is there a launch limiter on the 9? if so was it connected?

if you compare it to some of the 05's that have been poping up latly with 106 trap speeds, and bad 60ft. times its pretty much the same. guess the 05's and 06's are pretty close .

Thats what im thinking. If a 05 pulled a 1.7 60ft at the same track and same conditions, possibly could be the same or real close

No weight reduction.....It was on race gas. however all stock boost settings. 100 octane. So that prob gave it the litte extra nudge it needed into the 12's

That's awesome!! I will definitely be waiting for an Evo 9 turbo to be up for sale to swap into my '03. I was chossong between an '05 or this. The Evo 9 has proven itself. I guess that larger compressor makes a difference.
With bolt-ons, 11's will be a cinch.
