Unhealthy Addictions
The funny thing is I find myself almost working on the car every weekend. It it is not adding parts, its brake bleeding, if its not that its oil changes or other maintenance or at the very least washing the car once every week. The only time I take the car to shop is when its in my inability to perform the major work. IE engine and transmission work. Yes the reason for this is to save money by performing my own maitenance when ever I can.
the first manual car i got was an 1998 honda accord sedan 5 speed.....i put on 20k miles in less than half a year. basically, nothing felt better than driving with all the windows down while shifting. i used to get so anxious with wanting to drive at night i just said screw sleep and go out for a long *** drive. at ucla i used to go out at night and cruise around all the crazy restaurants/hotels/houses and check out them ferraris and lambos and aston martins and bentleys etc etc lol. but yea i love driving. i'm put 10k miles on my gsr within 5 months (slightly slower than my accord i know) since i dont drive the gsr to school anymore.
Addictions can truely develop with other things other than substances and can bring forth real withdrawal symptoms - not as physical as heroin or oxycontin, but withdrawal similar to tobacco or cocane.
Addictions ultimately lead to a self destructive lifestyle and can hurt loved ones so we must be careful as fanatics and keep it under control.
Some of us here on the threads are somewhat addicted to modding our cars - we work hard or scam others for cash to buy parts (like the junky stealing to get his stash), then we instal the parts, get in and drive off with our brains responding to the new found speed with dopamine and endorphines (like the junky's "rush"). Our butt dyno get's use to the new speed and needs more (tolerance).
See a perfect parallel you addict.
You see, look at that post up there above mine - thats denial

It didn't stop you from posting though, did it? So who's dumber? Is it me, who created the "dumb thread," or the one who "wasted his time" posting about it?
