Manual-Vs-Electronic

I read that EBC are better than MBC because it allows the wastegate to stay closedd longer. What do you guys think. EBC or MBC ? I am leaning toward EBC because of the quicker spool. Again what do you guys think ?

There are several threads on this already, so if you search, you can find more detailed info on this subject, but honestly, they both work good. MBC's are alot cheaper than EBC's, so if you want to save money, go with a manual. Another thing you should consider is this, if you plan on going far enough on your evo that you will go standalone engine management anytime soon (ems, power fc, f-con etc.) than an EBC would really be a waste of money.

Quicker spool??? DUNNO BOUT THAT!!!

EBC are better because you taper your boost and change boost conditions in your car by the flip of a switch also more reliable,But MBC work fine too.. up to you I would save money just get a MBC...

I just love the fact that you press a button from within the car and presto more boost. Mbc you have to get out open the hood and turn.

Actually PURE MR is wrong, if you read all info about a stnd alone ECU they recommend a EBC even if you can control the boost with it,too much map switching at once = Expense REPAIRS

Yeahhhhhh don't quote me on the quicker spool but the book i was reading says it allows the wastegate to stay closed longer getting the boost respond quicker. But after i read the first guys responce it think your right . This is a project car for me and i do want to go all the way with it so your probably right, i should just save the money. I heard that the Forge Unos was really good but then i have seen alot of people with the hallmans too. So i don't know which is better.

Personally, I prefer the manual type, and I hear that our Unos is pretty nice also!

My reasoning is that a manual type is usually less expensive, easier to install, less components to potentially fail or require replacing, and easier to adjust (arguable).

There is nothing wrong with an electronic type, but it's complicated, messy, and expensive.

Just my opinion!

Why do you need to get out? Just run max boost all the time? Just because my MBC is set at 21PSI doesn't mean you have to hit it. EBC's are stupid and a waste of money.

That's because the Forge Unos was just released recently. Up until that point, the Hallman was pretty much the only reliable choice. The cool thing about the Forge Unos is the ratchet-style control knob that clicks when you make adjustments. This makes it MUCH easier to keep track of how much you're changing your boost, because on the Hallman (and all others), you just turn the knob and try to remember where it was by marking it or by watching the design on the top of the knob.

Well I've read a MBC allows the wastegate to stay open shorter.

Keep it clean, simple, functionable, and reliable and go with a MBC, plus, if you keep your lines as short as you possibly can, youcan get even better respnse - like better wastegate control.

Thats what I think

Thanks
