yes

the car is still essentially the same. there wont be any problems fitting on all the parts that are available for the evo8's. only that you probably wont want to change the bov due to it now beeing aluminum. and the aftermarket cam gears that you can get for the evo8 you would only want to buy one for the exhaust side since the intake cam now is moved back and forth with oil pressure through the head *(mivec)*. everything else is just like the evo8 for the most part at least.

over all the evo 9 is a beautiful car in my opinion and it also feels noticeably torquier. enjoy your evo9 once you get it man.

I doubt the cams will fit, Evo9 has a MIVEC engine. So you better double check

i'm not sure on that, but i highly doubt they changed the cams. the profile might be different for sure on the intake side at least. and it might even be of a higher duration profile than the evo8 on the intake side. but the exhaust side looks the same still. same 17 mm bolt on it and same diam cam gear with everything else.

Ill check on it before ordering.. Should I do cam gears also? and none of the bov's will work with it? I was looking into the greddy or hks w/ recirc fitting of course..? oh and hows the clutch supposed to be in the 9? should I upgrade? I'm looking to do mid 11s which from what I've read shouldnt be too hard but should I upgrade the clutch ?

Both cams have different part numbers vs. the VIII and the intake cam is slotted to accept the sensor opposite the gear. For the most part, exhaust components will switch over (the O2 sensor is now located in the cat vs. the IP) and suspension and brake components are shared.

I'm looking at the Greddy titanium exhaust and also a 3" downpipe and was planning on test pipe. So I would have to relocate the o2 correct? and jamie you said the part #s are different but does that mean the gsc cams wont work? thanks I'm new to evo's so I am still learning.

Whats that for!? I am just trying to make sure I know exactly what I want to do. I know a little info on the 8's but wasn;t sure on if too much has changed where certain parts won't fit.

We don't know yet; they just came out. No one has changed the cams or cam gears yet. People have only started to do basic mods and ECU tuning. You also said you don't know much about Evos, so you haven't yet done your research on this site to see what mods will get you in the 11s. We have ENTIRE THREADS just talking about the best ways to get to 11s. I have contributed in several of them. You need to do a lot of research before asking basic questions. Your IX questions aren't basic, but the standard power mod questions are incredibly basic.

No one knows anything about the clutch yet either.
