I heard that they sucked in the rain, but I could be wrong.

the manual and stickers in the car when you buy it say that the Advans are summer only tire, but I believe there fine in the rain. They suck in the snow. Sorry bout the accident, and good idea to go with the IX bumper (I might do that if I dont get a IX, I'll get one if the offer 0% again in late 06)

I thought the ACD is supposed to work.
Should have set it to gravel or snow.

Sorry about your accident,,,
I myself had a nervy incident in the rain with the Advans. Where I live, it rains A LOT!! I was doing a 50 taking the slightest of bends, and suddenly my backend wanted to let go. I was really scared. I just lifted off the throttle and did a some steering correction, and regained control. whew! AND i was in GRAVEL mode...so figure.

Hell, you think YOUR tires suck? Try living with Bridgestone Potenza 0E70s; the tires that come on the STi.

Its a 03, No ACD.

Once again, i havent had a lot of issues with them in regular rain. Im talking raining so hard the water cant get off the road fast enough, so its like instant puddles.

the advans arn't too bad in the rain. it's when the temp starts to drop then the advans don't grip nearly as good as in the summer months. combine that with rain and advans they are alittle slick. that's why they say advans shouldn't be used below 40 degrees F because they can't get up to a good temp to grip.

Mine were awesome in the rain when they had a decent amount of tread on them. If it was below 50 outside they were REAL slippery.

OK so, Locla Mitsu quoted me $730 for a IX bumper .. Unpainted...... Ugh.....My insurance wants me to use a company they deal with for the repairs. How do i go about convincing them to put a Evo IX bumper on a Evo VIII. Anyone know of any IX front bumpers forsale on here .... Painted. I thought there were some group buys or something going on???

Anyone know if the ix bumper is the same as the viii on the bottom?? Will the APR splitter fit? It uses the stock undertray mounting points on the bumper cover
