I recently traded in my highly modded 04 sti for a 06 EVO IX and I don't regret it at all. I can honestly go on for days talking about how much better I like my EVO over my sti. The only thing I miss is the sti 6 speed tranny.

I'm not doubting what you're saying about working on them, but one thing's for sure, the EJ25 is one ugly bastard of a motor, while the 4g63 makes for a very attractive under-hood presentation.

When lifting up the hood of the STi, it's like pulling a Stouffers meal out of a box-freezer. When lifting up the hood of the Evo, it's like opening a treasure chest. The STi's TMIC looks cool, and presents well, but other than that, it's not a real attractive motor to look at like the 4g63 is, with its nice shiny red cover.

As for being harder to work on, I can't comment. I haven't had to work on my STi yet.

hmm... funny I actually prefer the way the subaru engine looks. Perhaps because it is different and you see pipes in places you normally dont see them

mitsu engine looks like any other engine casue it is a typical inline 4

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side

I like the shiny red valve cover. I dunno. I just think it's dressed up and presented very well. It gives the impression that Mitsubishi is proud of it.

Hey I like the STi engine! Evo's is nice too, but just a lil plaine. I do say, I like that the turbo is quite visible. Ive seen some really sweeeeet looking STi engines dressed up.

And I've just heard that STi's are harder to work on, I dont know from personal experience either. I've heard that the boxer engines are just, different. Also heard it has 4 cams which, only makes it a little more difficult to mod. Of course, 11's are quite possible.
