Just stick with the stock air box, get a K&N drop in, and use the APS blow off valve, thats your best bet if you want your car to run properly.

The relevance is that it shows you are more concerned with noise than performance, so your input is not useful.

the noise you are describing sounds like compressor surge. I suggest you do a search on it to learn how and why it occurs. As others have suggested though, in your case it is most likely a misconfigured BOV.
