hand made trunk bars..

After making some other parts for the evo, i decided to make these first.. i will have 2 for sale by this weekend.. just waiting for a couple more heim joints.. all the parts are hand made, well i didnt make the metal but i cut, welded, assembled, and painted everything myself.... i may have gone over board with my thickness of matieral, but i like overkill, and all i can say is there was a big diff, in handling when i got the first one done... i dont like using aluminum, it bends, my stuff doesnt.. anyways i will have the 2 others done and painted shortly, i will sell them for 275 plus shipping.... this isnt cheap thin metal, its all 3/16.. i was gonna go 1/4 inch but that would have weighed to much.. so 3/16 was much better weight wise.. but nontheless these dont flex...

All the tools you would need are 2, 3/4 inch wrenchs,3/4 socket, big ratchet, 14 mm wrench, razor blade, and a drill with a 1/2 inch bit.. install is very easy..

If i can get 10 people that want them ill make more.. i have 2 now..

I didnt copy this idea from someone, im just making a couple parts here and there to pay for my damn addiction known as the evo.. i want a 35r on this car..

thanks for looking all..

These bars look fantastic. I might have to pick me up a set of them sometime soon. Very well done!

ralliart does.. there is even holes already in our trunks just for this purpose.. lift up your trunk mat and you see 2 small black dots... its tape.. there is a nut welded in the frame already.. i would have liked to use them, but since i am using 1/2 inch hardware, those holes are way to small.. just look at my second pic..

R&D looks good (research and development ) , but your show and shine leaves a little to be desired . Not bling, just spruce it up a little.

Theese are NOT swaybars..Looks pretty nice although I would have made the plate go all the way around the shock tower, other then that looks strong..

How is it that the bolts for the rear mounting points are threaded into the trunk from underneath the floor?

Was that done intentionally?

Wouldn't it have been easier to thread them in from the top down through the floor instead of up?

Just curious!

Awesome DIY though!
