Angry my st evo at dealer didnt come, but the 2nd 2 did!

well, check this **** out, my black evo, which i ordered 3 months before anyone else at my dealership was supposed to be there before the other 2 evos. however, i call today, the evos are there, but mine hassnt come yet... it seems the 2 evos ordered way after mine, thatw ere supposed to be coming after mine are there. and mine isnt!! im so f+cking pissed right now. is this because they were possibly on another truck, and the other trcker is slower, or had more stops to make? or am i not likely to get my car until 2nd allocation?

-Andy -seriously thinking about an STi now.

Yours is probably 2nd allocation. They couldn't ORDER a specific color, etc. The cars were allocated to the dealers without giving them a choice of color, options. Your dealer may have just told you they could and figured they'd string you along until they did get a black one allocated to them.
I know a dealer in Lexington got three of them in recently (Saturday) and they are expecting the 2nd shipment in a few weeks.

BTW, If you are impatient getting an Evo you will get even more impatient waiting another 3-4 months for an Sti. I don't like the fact that Subaru is still keeping the weight and price a big secret.

You've waited this long, whats another week? However, you're considering waiting ANOTHER few months for an STi because your color hasnt come in yet?

I think he's just exaggerating because he's really frustrated, I don't think he would actually consider a STI. He's my brother, so I can understand that he's annoyed because the dealer has been constantly pushing back the arrival date and I know he's really anxious!

I don't see why you wouldn't wait for the STi. If we have all waited this long, why not wait to chose the best between EVO and STi, rather than be "one of the first" to get an EVO. I am undecided between the two and am inclined to wait. However, if I sit in the EVO and love it, I know I will be tempted.

People like me just love the Evo and would rather take a slightly less powerful Evo over the much speculated about STi.

Hey man, I had a black(1st choice was silver) on order as well that was supposed to come in on the 13th this month. When my dealership told me it was delayed until April 4th I was kind of pissed about it because I needed a car. SO here's what I did. CALL all of the dealers near by you within a 100 mile radius. I'm serious. Not only did I find 3 other dealers within 25 miles of me that had the color I wanted but they were all willing to match my markup from the other dealership if I was willing to get it that day. Which I was of course. So now I'm sitting pretty with my Silver Evo. Only took 3 days to get my deposit back from the other dealership. I suggest trying that out first.

rt turbo, here's what really happened to your car. Last week some guy walks up to the sales manager and says: "I'll pay $xK over MSRP, cash, for your first Evo." The sales manager, knowing he has your deposit and can string you along for at least a couple of months, says without hesitation: "Done." Did you actually go to the stealership and assure yourself that it really wasn't delivered? I didn't think so. "Your" Evo is probably undergoing its PDI right now.

i seriously doubt that. when you have some proof, come back. otherwise, stop speaking from your ***.

to broeli: actually your way wrong about not being able to pick your color. i picked my color, no sunroof with the big wing. they are all options. many many other people on here picked their color. they had to have it picked before each dealre sent in their order. i had it set back in august! and its not in the 2nd allocation. the other truck driver is slow or smoething. it left port on a trcuk the exact same day as the other 2, just on a different truck. this being my car, and my luck, it either flipped over, or the truck driver has no sense of urgency.

As far as I'm aware, dealerships DO NOT get to choose their allocations. Yes, as consumers we got to put down deposits on a specific car w/ a specific wing or sunroof. However, that does not mean the dealer then submits your request for that specific package. Your deposit is more like reserving that color/package when it hits their lot, meaning you get first dibs on that car because you have a deposit down for that package. If you want to, think of it as a waiting line for whatever package is going to come in. Whoever has the earlier deposit is going to get first dibs on the cars, hence they ask you for your preference.

This is in fact the sole reason I have two deposits down (luckily they don't deposit checks if you that is your form of deposit), because I am currently vehicle-less (and I need a car bad) and I do not know, nor do the dealerships know when and if they will ever get a blue, w/ large wing w/ sunroof. It's kind of a game of luck.

One of the dealerships in fact asked me for a 2nd preference, just in case it came in and nobody wanted it. I have blue as my first, red as the second, though I would still MUCH prefer the blue.

Hope that clears it up. My bet is that your dealer just strung you along knowing full well they may or may not get your choice first allocation, as somebody previously mentioned. Don't be fooled by what they may say, they are first and foremost a seller, and if they're honest sellers then that's a plus. You can't expect all dealers to be your best friend, although that's how the good dealerships get returning customers.

Have a and chill out! A lot of us are still waiting too.

You have been LIED to. You could NOT order specific color, option on the 1st/2nd allocation. I have talked to many dealers and none could take a specific order. Instead you have to shop around to find out who is allocated the color you want in the first shipment. Sounds like you have been misled since August.

No. I don't have any proof. I was merely describing a situation that I've observed in the past as a possible scenario for your actual case. I hope the phantom "second" truck arrives soon with your black Evo on it. And, until it does, you have no proof that what I've said isn't true.

thats odd about the color thing. ive heard many people say they picked their own color. heres what i know: i said" black, large spoiler, no sunroof." thy tell me, my vin number, and the head of the mitsu department told me i have a black, no sunroof, with large spoiler coming. every time i call they tell me the same thing. the invoce even says "black, large spoiler, no sunroof" trust me, i have a black one coming. btw, i just talked to a turck driver dropping off a bunch of reg. lancers here in BG ky. i asked him if he had a evo, he said he just dropped off bunch in louisville ky at the dealer i went to. he was the truck driver that droped off the 2 ahead of me. small world eh? he also said he dropped off a black evo fitting the description of mine at a sam swope(same dealer nam,e just different dealer on other side of louisville) before he dropped the 2 at my dealership. he gave me the vin number for it, but it didnt match mine. it was very close though, in that, the number in it for back is the same as on my vin, and the rest showing what car it is is the same. he said there were other trucks that were going the same place, but they had other stops to go to first, so it is likely that my car was on the other truck, and will get there tomorrow or the next day... depending on how the driver drives.

Well, my deposit, invoice, and out the door slips all say, "Blue, Large Spoiler, Sunroof" on it too. Like I said, it's very possible they're stringing you along, but if what the truck driver says is true, then yes, maybe your car is on the way and is on another truck. You do have a VIN number, which is a good sign. However, let me remind you again that the dealerships have no choice over their allocations. If they did, then I'm sure I wouldn't be waiting until May or longer for my car to come in, they could just order it and be done with it.
