Question HELP Odd Noise....

Tonight as I was driving home I heard a odd noise coming from front of the car.

I found about it after building up boost in 2nd gear and then putting it in nuetral coasting..I could hear it perfectly...
the sound can only be described as a hissing noise and fluttering almost like a hose was whipping around with air coming out of it but I know this wasnt it because i check the engine right away.

On one note my brakes have just started to make squealing noises on very slow stops . Could this noise be coming from the brakes.

If this is a boost leak I've never had one before, but the car still pulls hard(because I hear its sluggish when thers a leak). Car is 2005 with no boost guage So I dunno if it could be that. Also what does a boost leak sound like because a couple times in 4th gear hitting high rpms has made this disguisting whine high pitch noise that I dont know what is.

squeaky breaks at slow stops is normal for the evo
cant figure out the noise from what you wrote , just be sure to check all hose fittings to make sure they are tight.
and order yourself a boost gauge

11,000 and it'll be put in the garage for the winter but before I'm going to Mitsubishi to get the recall fixed because I've put it off.

Is there anywhere online I can type my VIN number to see if my model is affected out of the what 1100?

ok, do you have a aftermarket bov? if so when you come off the gas slow or sometimes fast depending on the boost level if you here a fluttering sound (like air) its probally compresser surge, most ppl think its the bov fluttering unfortunattly its not and its slowly destroying your turbo......but dont worry i have good news 1) i just saved a bunch of money on my car insurence by switching to geico. 2)it gives you a good reasing to bolt a HUGE turbo on when it does go. but on a serious note 3) dont worry about it, my friend has an 03 evo that went 11.50's on a stock turbo 32psi and a 75 shot (race gas only) he had 40000 miles on it and there was nothing wrong with it at all. he just put on a bigger 1 so they could make bigger #'s and its gonna be funny because no one is goin g to believe the #'s above but i have it on tape. if anyones interested i have a video of his talon going 10.3 (slow pass for him) just let me know AIM NAME is TURBO88726. hope this helps and i know some of this is sorry lol
