whats the best fluid?

I am ready for my 30k service and was wondering what the best non-oem fluids are for my car. I hear a lot of debate between royal purple and redline, but what gives you the best horsepower and which fluid is used in which part of the car! Thanks!

The most popular ones I've heard around here are bg syncroshift, pennzoil syncromesh, or just the mitsu. diaqueen. As for the diffs, I forget.

fluids don't give you horsepower....maybe a little hp gain if you do a oil change or coolant flush before you dyno, that's about it...anyway, I've always had good results on BG or GM syncroshift/syncromesh..

I just replaced my clutch...Tranny got BG synchroshift and Transfercase got Diaqueen....I did notice that shifting is somewhat smoother...I will try synchromesh next time though

mobil 1 10w30 for oil
diaqueen for tc
pennzoil syncromesh for tranny.

much smoother shifts, less tc decel noise. all in all satisfied. and it was easy.

just curious, are you racing? What's the incentive to go with non OEM fluids?

I used Diaqueen for the diffs and b/c I couldn't find OEM trans fluid, I went with Syncroshift...I also have Syncromesh sitting on my shelf right now waiting for the next change.

Syncroshift is nice, it's super smooth and got rid of my 2nd gear clunk.

and drivetrain fluids doesn't increase HP...

by the way you replied, I have to say diaqueen is not recommended in transmission. It's a fluid for the diffs ie: TC, and Rear Diff.

You have to think also on your kind of driving. If take your Evo to the track alot, alot of peeps like Redline for all the fluids but for normal driving, stock is just fine.
