Yes, I know. We've received a bunch of accessories in already and unless lowers their pricing on this stuff, they won't sell a damn bit of it.

We got the rear strut bar in today and it goes for like $389 for a piece of aluminum.

I would love to get the alum front strut tower brace, but damn, for $422 I KNOW I get a titanium aftermarket brace that will be stiffer & lighter them the alum one... that, and then I will have the standard one to use as a paper-weight!

Some of the more generic parts are not too bad. The wheel locks @ $25, cargo net @ $29,and sunshade @ $64 are all reasonable (well $64 is a little high for the sunshade...hopefully it says Evolution on it!).

There are a few other Lancer/EVO specific pieces that also seem to be priced fairly well. The door sill scuff plates @ $92, the pedal set @ $76, the brake cooling guides @ $149, and maybe even the air dam might be considered reasonable.

The rest of the parts are priced way too high, and the aftermarket will fill those voids nicely.

Some of the parts are not pictured on Mitsubishi's web site, and all you get is a brief description. Does anyone have any info on the front air dam (pre-painted like the Suby WRX body parts?Just a black add-on lip?), and I would also be interested in what you actually get with the grounding kit.

As a past WRX owner the extra grounding straps seem to provide a benefit in providing better idle and overall performance. I realize that you can make your own, I just wonder what Mitsubishi's idea of a grounding kit is and where/how they are connected.

Try again on those prices. Those are dealer cost. Add a lot onto that. The brake air guides, my price is like $170 something. The door sill scuff plates are like $130 my cost.

The front corner air dam is a black lip that goes on either side of the front bumper. You need to drill into the bumper to mount it.

Those prices came right off of Mitsubishi's damn website. If they don't want people thinking they are going to get that price then they shouldn't post that info!

BTW, I have already confirmed these prices with my dealership, and these are the prices I will get so....not too certain about the pricing practices of other dealerships but it may be worth shopping around.

Well I re-read my post and I was pretty volatile on my reply to you Fireball. My apologies for that. I typically use more tact. Anyway I do appreciate the info on the air dam as I am sure others do.

I am somewhat confused though when it comes to the pricing info on the Mitsubishi site. It does say suggested retail on the build-it page...not cost. I realize that many dealerships are marking the cars and accessories up, which is an adjustment over MSRP not cost. The Mitsubishi site notes that pricing will be set by the dealership so its not really false advertising.

My only concern is your comment about your costs being higher than the prices I listed, which were just advertised pricing on the Mitsubishi site.

If your costs are higher than those listed, then Mitsubishi needs to adjust those prices accordingly, or simply remove the pricing of those accessories. Conflicting numbers will only result in confusion in the end and make dealers look bad.

Sorry for being harsh earlier, I just don't like conflicting info, especially since so many dealers are trying to take advantage of people willing to pay far above MSRP because they are so rabidly enthusiastic about finally getting the "real deal" performance sedan.

Sounds like the Japanese dealer pricing + a bit on top.

They are generally hoping that you are so awed by the fact that you've been blessed with the Evolution that you'll immediately run out and buy every little option available to go with it.

Cheers,

Paul Hansen

So did we figure out what the brake cooling air guides are? Or are we still confused?

Anyway, my dealer didn't have any options when I picked up the car, so he's willing to sell them to me at dealer price when he gets them (labor not included, unfortunately)
