Question Anyone run 1/4 mile in US evo8 yet

I was wandering if anyone has made any runs at the tracks yet. All this dyno shmnyo talk is making me wander if it can really run the times said it could. Mine only has 300 miles so I can't run it yet, but I would like to know if anyone has. Perferablly one that is stock.

Read Scc's newest publication, they ran a 13.3?, though that was
their best time with a few more in the mid 13's. They took it up into the mountains and were not doing as good.

What a shame to ruin a good car like that. Tell me the times you runs around road courses o what skidpad test show then I'll be impressed.

Evo isn't a drag car. It's a road going car like a Porsche or Audi or BMW

Just because you drag race a car doesn't mean that that is ALL you are going to do with it.

Broaden your horizons. Drag racing is FUN! The engineering, attention to detail, tuning, and difficulty of driving (yes, it is difficult to drag race and get your best possible time) are what attract me to drag racing.

It doesn't mean that I only drag race, though. I autocross, too. And I have trophies on my shelf from both forms of racing.

So the guy who did the 13.8 hadn't even broken the car in yet?
Pure ignorance, I feel for that car!

Don't worry, it's a 4G63 which is a near-bulletproof engine, not one of those whimpy BMW engines that self-destructs when you over-rev or abuse it in any way.

BMW drivers, such effete whimps.

The evo does a lot of things well. I haven't been to the drag strip and years ... mainly because I've had track oriented cars, but it is still a lot of fun.

What use would lap times be anyways? ... My best time at Motorsports Ranch is a 1:21 ..... what does that tell you if you've never been there? ... at least all quarter mile tracks are the same.

What are you talking about. Any car that can turn sub 14 second 1/4 mile was made to go fast in a straight line. A car that can turn a mid 13 stock is a formidable opponent to anycar. And the JDM's that are sub 13, SURE these cars are not made for the drag. If a car that can turn sub 13 1/4 mile is not a drag car, then what the hell is.

Yes I know that it is not the EVO's primary function, and that it is better on a coarse, but my evo is going to suprise some redneck mustang owners at the drag.

Not a drag car, HAHAHA
