monitors/screens in evo recaro's?

Hey all,

Has anyone had lcd monitors installed into the back of their evo seats for the backseat passengers? I'm wondering if it's possible and if so if it looks good to have them in the back of the recaro's, being a race style seat not a standard sedan seat. If anyone has pics please share them. I need them in the back of the car so I can bribe my kids into not being little beasts by letting them watch their movies on road trips. I never thought I'd say it but thank god for Dora.

p.s. Yes, I did a search on headrest monitors and seat monitor, lcd, screens etc... and didn't find anything.

I believe racing seats are too thin to have monitors on them and also it will look ugly. just buy your kids a P2P or a Ipod video

That's what I was thinkin. I can always do a drop down screen from the headliner I guess. Hmmm PSP... I wonder if I can talk my wife into getting my 2 yr. old a PSP then I can steal if from her. Naaa I don't think so.

On another note, my current ride should be sold today and I'm bringing my deposit to the dealer and getting my paperwork rollin. I'm trying to find a WW car with no SSL but am having trouble getting one from another dealer so I'm probably gonna go with my second color choice EB.

Why do you want to do this? Put the LCD's in your other car or the minivan like me....not the EVO.

You must either 1. Not have kids or 2. They're past the terrible two's, you forgot what monsters they can be, and they can now sit quiet and entertain themselves on a long ride. Do I want a screen... Not really... Do I want to listen to a little beast.. Hell no.

Instead of missing up the recaros, its better to set up the drop down screen. Or you can always get the portable dvd/cd player with screen.

1 because Barney won't fit in the back seat with his baby and,
2 kids without an inside focal point will puke all over his seats.

Yea we have the portable now and it's a POS. The battery life is horrible, otherwise you have to run a cord from the backseat to the 12v plug. I'll probably do either one drop down or maybe two (1 for each).

Lets see.... what did I say... two little kids screaming of boredom. So no I don't want screens..however I don't want upset little ones bugging me more. Comprenda? BTW: thanks for the constructive input.

No, I have a minivan and my kids are 2,4,6,13 and no they don't like long trips even the 13 yr old. We evacuated for Hurricane Katrina and my 6yr old hated the ride so much that ever since then when we say we are going somewhere she says "Will it be long?".

I must say you have some exceptional 2yr olds for them to watch a movie...my 4/6 yr old will watch a whole movie if it's a cartoon or "Kid" movie, but even they get bored my 2yr old there is no way in hell he is going to sit and watch a movie.

Good luck and don't say I didn't warn you when that little tyke get's out of his/her carseat and breaks that nice little LCD mounted to the headliner. The best thing I have found is singing goofy little kid songs for keeping my 2yr old at bay at least until he falls asleep.

Good luck and enjoy those kids they grow up way too fast and you'll wish you heard the pitter patter of little feet again at least my wife and I do with our 13yr old and even our 6yr old their growing up.

hmm, I would get a custom screen fiberglassed onto the back of the rear cebter console. I was going to do this with a free audiobahn screen I got but havent had the time...

All depends on how much you are looking to spend..
