If anybody is interested on a Red A00, it's still availabe at a dealership in New Rochelle for $1,500 over. After today though it will be $2,500 over. I am not with the dealership and just making good on a promise to tell my friends.
You must call Todd at (914)576-2267 today.
Just tell him Paul sent you.
Let me know how you make out.

I think this is the car that i've had a $1k deposit on since December 2002..... I need to call the dealership and see whats up. Last I spoke to him (Smitty) he said he had "no info" and "as far as I know still selling at MSRP" (Premium Mitsubishi, New Rochelle, NY)
Yeah I just called them, basically my deposit was meaningless. Guy didn't even look my name up anyway, I told him I want my deposit back, he said "OK no problem, we'll give it back to you" Today it's $1500 over, tomorrow it's $2500 over. Or as a friend of mine put it "Today we give you vaseline, tomorrow we don't, but either way we're going to f**k you"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That's actually pretty funny when you think about it. Today we can't sell the car for 1500 over, so tomorrow we'll try again and make it more attractive by pumping it up another Grand. Maybe I'm the only one who finds that totally backwards.
The problem is whether this is a credible threat. It is a strategy to make you think you are getting a lower price than it is via advance announcement that the price is going up. This makes people who credibly believe they are going to raise prices committ to buying. Even if you don't do it now and do it a few days later, they can claim to be giving you a discount from the $2500 markup to a reduced $1500.
This is a pricing ploy commonly used by firms to increase or hold their prices high----because it gives them the highest profits. Do you truly believe that this is a one time deal? IMHO, demand is simply too hot at the moment and as with all things that are not a collector's item, the price will drop.
Sell to the players that want it the most before moving the inventory to the marginal guys on the fence who are more price sensitive. Simple strategy really. You think it might work?

Actually, I'm passing this on to people who already have a car on hold for $2500 or more.
Unless you already have a car locked on MSRP(I do by the way), if you call around the Tri state area you will get the same BS as in California. NY city for 10g's over, NJ bidding game!!!
If not feasable, I'll say just wait a while.
