Evo Diet
Just for information purposes, I have the SCC sept 2002 issue on hand. Inside there is one of Bozz Speed Japans Evo 6 racecars. This thing weighs in at 2,601. Keep in mind this is a full on racecar. No interior, only 2 carbon fiber shell seats. The ventilation system, heater, and 10 lbs of unnecessary wiring were removed. Like said above, they are using a dry carbon fiber hood. And also the trunk hinges are gone. Plus a bunch of other stuff. All this added together was about a 300lb deduction. That is huge.
ok... this is starting to get repeatetive and misunderstood
I am TRYING to mainly figure out a weight scale for EVERYONE to use... not just me. Everyone knows you can pull the sound deadening out, everyone knows you can pull the seats, etc...
I want to know how much these weigh. I will start wieghing my own stuff I guess and start a list. Sadly i.
I just think people should know exactly how much weight each item is... Buschur started a list but it isnt exactly a big list and isnt enough for people like me. I will try to get everything from the cat to the flywheel. Hopefully I can get some input to help the list. (Like the rear wiper blade and motor assembly, 3 lbs.)

If someone takes this post as me being mean its only because the original poster called someone a moron for stating the obvious.
Dude first, Search. This topic has been poured over 100 times on here, and you've been here long enough to know to search first.
Second, if you want to know the specific wieghts of things you can take off, take things off and weigh them.
Third, like someone said you can't have it all. Either it's going to be the fastest car it can be or its going to be comfortable. Pick what you're willing to take off and take it off. There are no secret parts you can take off that people haven't talked about b4, and no cheap lightwieght parts that you haven't heard of b4.
Lastly don't call people morons when they have not earned it. Again you asked how to take off a noticable amount of weight when you don't want to spend too much or compromise comfort or stock look. Not going to happen.
Good luck to you though

-Cut the bottom of your trunk out and put a thin piece of bulsa wood over it, then put the carpet back over.

Stock Exhaust manifold 7.0kg (15.4lbs)
Stock Turbo outlet 3kg (6.6lbs)
Stock Trunk hood 9.7kg (21.3lbs) -> Varis Carbon 4.5kg (9.9lbs)
Stock Hood 9.7kg (21.3lbs, strangely the same as the trunk?) -> Varis Carbon 6.2kg (13.64lbs)
p.s. Other useful places weights of which I don't know:
a) Flywheel
b) Stock fuel tank -> small race tank
c) Head lights and brake lights. In my EG civic, the cheap fake plastic headlight (not aftermarket, these were made to look like stock) were about 2kg lighter per side!!

And for the people that dont like the way I post sorry and dont read them

The reason I felt the need to keep re-explaining myself is because people still dont seem to understand what I was looking for. The reason I posted it is because (Aside from a small list from Buschur) there were no threads that I could search for that had any posts regarding wieghts for various objects (Or at least in a list with more than one little object). The reason I posted it is in case someone already did take off a bunch of stuff and weigh it (Therefore saving the time of doing it myself). I hope that makes more sense to you. I will make sure i dont waste any more of your precious space by posting questions that you feel are worthless, instead i should make much better posts like, How do I get an 11 second car? Or, who should I have reflash my car, or better yet, How much boost can I run with this setup? and one of my favorites, I added an upper intercooler pipe and now I dont have as much boost!
I will compile my own list and will give it out to people that want to see it. If anyone has any weights they would like to contribute to my list feel free to PM them to me if you want. I started my list last night so I now have a decent amount of weights from various items under the hood, in the trunk and various things underneath the car and in some panels.

ps: I did toss out over 100lbs of weight without changing the way the car looks or comprimising any comfort. I didnt pay anything to do it either. I figure I can get out another 50-60lbs without spending a dime or tossing out comfort. But you should know that since your ride (The Evo, not my mama like your little sign says), is 3,000lbs... mine wieghs 3100lbs wet (And its the GSR not the RS) and still looks the exact same as it did and still has all the comfort features still there. I am assuming since the RS is around 100lbs lighter than mine stock I assume yours still has full interior, Stereo, AC, etc, Mine also has the power windows/locks.

if you took 100lbs off, your car is 3200+. The GSR weight is 3300lbs

The RS is just under 3200, thus i have taken 200lbs off, and thats with the AC still in for now(The RS didn't come with a stereo).

Perhaps you didnt read where it DID weigh 3250 before I gave it a slight diet. 3250-100=3150, plus less gas in the tank than with the 3250 measurement and a few other trinkets = 3100.
Guess when I first said it weighed in at 3250 it was too confusing
I would assume the reason for the initial loss was things like the sheetmetal intake, tube header, new ic piping, full turboback, etc...
ok... so your car weighs 3000lbs, started at 3200.. you lost 200 lbs (Im assuming you stripped the interior some as well). My car started at 3300... it now weighs 3100 and I have full interior, a stereo, power windows/locks, etc... THIS is the reason I wanted to have a list of items weights... that way people could know there are other places to shave weight and can see how much they will shave. If the rear seat is 7lbs and the Evap is 9.. Id start with the evap crap first and keep the rear seat
Im not trying to be mean this time... My point is so everyone can see what things weigh and see there are much better places to lose weight than the seats and carpet. I mean it is pretty good that I could shave 200lbs off the car and still have full interior and ammenities. Like I said before, I am pretty confident in losing another 50-60 without losing anything that is a luxury or any interior componants that you could see or care about. Think if I made a list for you that had 300lbs of weight savings and keeping the car looking the same without losing anything like the AC. Id think people should be very interested in knowing how to do it. Keep in mind i still have the stock rims and spoiler and everything... like I said it still looks stock.

dude... trina... have you done a search? there's numbers for the seats, ther'es varying numbers because there's different scales, but there's numbers.
i've had a big thread about cf lid weights and no they're not heavier.
there is a thread all about the cf parts made by some place in the uk.
there's tons of brake rotor weights.
and this thread is already filled with more bull**** than numbers.
